Here’s another opinion piece on why Charlotte is making a bad decision on pursing football, posted in today’s paper.
Another unsigned editorial, using faulty logic, targeted for the April 3rd deadline.
**** off already. ********s.
I hate the Observer more and more every day.
Can wait until that POS burns to the ground
This article is another example of the BS that comes out of the Chapel Hill Observer…I replied to the article with the following:
it bothers me day in and day out that the CHARLOTTE observer still decides to bash a local University…I guess they will never learn…The Charlotte Observer needs to grow up and learn that UNC Charlotte is an amazing school, and that support from our LOCAL paper would be a nice thing to have…so sad that I have to go to an outside newspaper to get positive news about UNC Charlotte…this is why I will NEVER NEVER NEVER waste one dollar of my hard earned money on the toliet paper brand called Charlotte Observer…Wait I would not even use it for toliet paper…I would probably just burn it because that is all it is good for…I wish the observer would go away and a REAL newspaper company would come in and take over!!! Maybe one day!!!
Their stock closed at $0.49 last night. Less than a weekday paper.
Easy to know who wrote that editorial POS. It amazes me that they still will not look at the “total” cost involved in attending UNC system schools which is all that matters in the end. It also amazes me that people think the money will roll in for academics if football doesn’t come to the campus.
To the Charlotte administration, screw the Observer. Do not spend one penny on the “Stake Your Claim” project with McClatchy.
If you haven’t already, please let them know your thoughts:

couldn’t have put it any better
Nah im not going to bother replying. Its just giving them what they want…
Oh the sweet, sweet irony.Haha, someone should leave that as a comment on the article. I already left a couple.
“Dubois was correct when he said last year a football program would help build campus spirit and knit the university closer to Charlotte, which, oddly, keeps the campus that shares its name at an arm’s length.”
Huh? What? That was a zinger right over my head. Could someone please explain.
city doesnt embrace us. about the only accurate thing in that piece.
Do you guys subscribe to the Observer? I may get blasted for admitting this but I have subscribed for many years. This however may be the final straw. I am contemplating canceling this week.
Not even going to click.
I used to have it the Big O, but when the free trial stopped, I didnt bother renewing (no diss to the Big O, but I was a broke student). But I kept getting it and so did my Campus Edge roomate. Then he moved out, and we still kept getting 2 copies.
Now I live in Ballantyne, and there is a paper on my doorstop every day. I have no idea whats going on…
