With players here for six, and even seven!, years I suspect some records will be set that may never be broken because normally players will not have enough games to do so. It is nobody’s fault, but it doesn’t seem quite fair.
Just because they can by NCAA rules I dont think it means its a sure thing. I know some big schools did not offer this to their athletes in the spring. We had to do a fund raiser to make it available to our spring athletes. If we are going to do this for football guys we are going to need to raise a significant amount.
This benefits everyone, but I think this helps us just a little bit more.
The Lambert era left us chronically short on quality depth. Healy and Co have been recruiting their tail off to fix that, but it takes time. Especially when talking about guys on the lines. Giving our seniors another year, and letting that depth develop isn’t only going to help us next year, but long term down the road.
Or do we want to get some guys out and new better players in?
