My episode 2 predictions:

Dany will convene an audience to address the news from the North that the Last Hearth (and probably Karhold too) have fallen to the NK

Jaime will be at that meeting, but will be called out of the gallery by Daenerys to answer for murder of her father, Mad King Aerys.

Tyrion will try to take up for his brother, appealing to Dany, due to his role as HotK, but his decision making will be called into question. (Seriously, when is the last time Tyrion made a good decision? - I can’t decide if it’s bad writing or some kind of slow play by Tyrion. It’s most likely the former). His loyalty and motivations (what exactly was the deal he made with Cersei?) will likely be questioned. Either he or Jaime will make an impassioned plea that he did what he had to do with Aerys, and it will start to go south until Brienne steps forward and recounts how Jaime told her the same story after the bear pit (Harrenhal).

I suspect when it seems like he may be redeemed, someone will bring up him pushing Bran out of a window. (I originally thought this may happen first, but not anymore). What was an audience will quickly turn into a defacto trial similar to the one that condemned Petyr Baelish. Jaime will fear for his life.

Someone will finally get around to asking Bran what he thinks, and he will respond with “we don’t have time for any of this”. He can start lecturing about the white walkers etc. I am about 50-50 on whether Jon’s true parentage will come out at this point… I’m leaning towards no, because Jon and Dany are probably going to discuss it later in the crypts.

Anyway I figured this would be a good time for Tormund Beric and Dolorous Ed to show up and tell everyone that the NK will be there by morning. Someone is going to finally say (Jon) that all of these last names and quibbles mean nothing, because all that matters now is survival. It’s finally going to sink in after Tormund details the horror of what they found at the last hearth (and karhold?). Jon will stamp down all opposition as he tells everyone just what is coming for them.

Later, while preparations are being made for the battle, Dany will join Jon in the crypts in front of Ned and Lyana’s statutes. I think this is when he may tell her (or will he?), rather than causing a confrontation in front of all of the Lords of the north. If he does, it is going to put a strain between them going into the battle. Jon will have to decide tactically if it’s a good time to bring it up or not. It’s possible he could do it to unify the fractious forces at Winterfell under one ruler, but I think not… The Unsullied and dothraki will only answer to Dany…

Some more final prep, a couple of speeches from the 3 wise men (Tyrion, Varys and Davos), and the episode will end with the shot of the white walkers on horseback in the field outside Winterfell.

And oh yes, the Night King is going to kick their teeth in during Episode III. There will be a high body count, including several main cast members. The North will be desperate and broken, fleeing towards…?
The fun part after episode III is who is gonna become a zombie? Can you imagine zombie Brienne???

By the way, there is a terrificly detailed essay out there about Dany being purposefully written as a classic Shakespearean tragic hero. It’s extremely long, but excellently written, and well proves the argument.
NAs cliff notes on it are this: Dany will be placed in a classic Shakespearean dilemma: Love or Power… And she will feel compelled to choose power, which is going to cause her to take some very controversial actions once she finds out who Jon is. Emilia Clarke kinda tipped her hand by saying that some of the things Dany does this season were so hard for her to film and come to grips with. This will NOT end happily for her.
My add on to this point is that Dany and John represent two different types of leaders. Dany through the sum of her experiences has become a well-intentioned brutal dictator and she’s going to act out accordingly when presented with this dilemma… John however is the true representation of the reluctant hero; the person who realizes the yolk of responsibility and wants nothing of it but will do it because they believe it’s their duty. That is exactly the type of person you want to lead you in this world or in the real one. The tragedy here will be Dany’s well-intentioned downfall.
i read somewhere the other day that many fans are upset that there will be no scenes of dragons f*****g in the final season. could this be true? i mean about the dragons part?
Speaking of that, that was a kinda uncomfortable scene.
Also, Ned Stark killing everyone in the crypts confirmed.

His dark sense of humor got me through so many tough parts of the books
That scene with Brienne was of course great, as was Sam, Edd and Jon on the wall again. I almost cried. If you read the battle of the Nights Watch vs the Wildlings @ the wall back in a Storm of Swords, you remembered just how powerful of a call back that was because they were so desperate back then… Exhausted, heavily outmanned, and nearly hopeless. Edd cracking black humor jokes got them and the readers through it
Also GHOST SIGHTING!! I jumped out of my chair. #theydidntfuckingforgethim
That episode was a goodbye probably to about half the main cast. The body count next week is going to be at an all time high.
Between that, Avengers Endgame, and the NFL draft, next weekend is gonna be a lot to process and talk about

Having slept on it, I now believe that last night’s episode probably telegraphs every single BoWF death coming next week, the same way that Episode 1 of the series did when Robert touched every Stark that was going to die.

Also, Brianne def gonna die now that she is a knight. Dunno about the others.

I was going to say varys, but I think he’ll see Melissandre again. Arya still has to see her again, right?
The NK army is going to attack through the crypts and at a minimum kill/raise all the women and children. Also possible that NK will raise older corpses as well. My dream of Wun Wun being raised is dead now that someone reminded me they burned his body.
And the Golden Company is gonna break their contract with Cersei. But that is probably a later episode.
Gonna also buy in on the theory that Tyrion lied (intentionally) to Dany about Cersei coming north to force her to fight the more important battle… explains his apparently bad decision. He may also still have some small affinity / family loyalty to Cersei. The latter doesn’t matter, the former reason is far more important.
So Clayton proposed the theory that everyone who didn’t drink last night is going to die…
