Official Stadium Construction Thread 🏟

Nothing to get excited about? We’ve waited a decade for this😂

Well, like I said above, masters of the slow-roll-out.

How does it fit with the current aesthetic of the stadium?

Wanna see the full press release as far as the different seating options and features…

Can we get a team store or will we keep using a trailer?

I guess we didn’t fundraise enough to build the other side… But wasn’t something hinted at for that when we brought up the club Niner setup? (I just forgot what it’s called).

I actually agree with @49RFootballNow, my first impression was “that’s it?”

It’ll be fine. This is nothing to brag about. Just looks like a routine add on with midlevel suites. Meh. Most fans will never step foot in a suite either.

I don’t want to poo poo it too much but I find this all to be very underwhelming.

One of the major improvements will be the TV viewing angle.

To me it looks like they tried to pack in as many seating types as possible into the setup.

Most of them are pretty standard - suites, loge, etc… standard club level.

This part is kinda interesting:

It also looks like it won’t have much brick, at least from this angle. The tower itself may.

It’s a needed step forward.

It’s also the single most expensive piece of expansion.

Let’s see the backside of the building. More chances to be design innovative there

For sure hopefully, It’s concrete and brick on the backside. Exposed steel looks cheap like ECU’s tower.

Seems to be a good bit of cost cutting while maintaining features.

We really did the original stadium at a high level. Was always worried it would be hard to maintain that aesthetic for expansion. If the main tower maintains it, that will be satisfactory, I suspect / hope.

I think if we were given the choice, we would probably pick keeping features over aesthetics.

  • go bigly, add lots of stuff
  • go less bigly, focus on design

This vote is contradicting my assumption so far.

Here’s the official tweet. Seems like our fans scooped them:

Looks like the current press box will survive the construction or it’s at least still in the renderings. Seems to make the most sense to just build above it.

I’m pretty sure it’s gone.

Underwhelming continues…

Two CGI pictures? Really Mike?

That’s what I was thinking from some of the evergreen documents. It looks like it’s still there in the latest render though. Will be intresting to see if floor designs will be released.

I’m not seeing the current press box in the new rendering. What I see is the new lower floor of the press tower. There’s no windows, and the upper deck is too low to allow a good field view from there.

This should have included at the very least a back side view of the tower. This is underwhelming in the extreme. Nothing new here.

Hopefully they will add video/screen boards along the bottom of upper section. More video boards the better.

Why are we so bad at these layup type things?

We get the simple stuff wrong almost every time.
