One Hell of a Year

I just saw a blurb about basketball madness and it just hit me that it has been almost one year since I sat and watched the madness last year.

What a year it has been.

1 year ago we didn’t know Darion Clark or that he would be transferring out.

We didn’t know that we would lose two other players one to transfer and one of which would actually earn his degree, get in trouble, get thrown off the team, transfer to another school and then get arrested for conspiracy to commit armed robbery (just an incredible series of events when you think of it)

We didn’t know that we would beat davidson at Davidson in a great game.

We didn’t know we would win a game against Richmond in the conference tournament by the most incredible series of events with all those technicals.

We didn’t know we would sink to the depths of despair with all our defections then end up getting two great transfers for next year as well as some really solid recruits coming in over the next two years.

We had not had a football game yet.

We had not had our home FB games on TV yet

We had not pulled off an upset against a ranked FCS team yet.

We had not been creamed by a D2 FB school in devastating fashion yet.

We had not changed conferences yet.

We had not played a game in our awesome new FB stadium yet.

We hadn’t had the privilege of picking out our FSL seats yet.

We hadn’t had a spring FB game yet.

We had not seen the soccer team have a great year then crash out of the A10 tournament which we were hosting.

What I’m trying to say is that this has been a year for the ages in Charlotte sports history. I’m glad I was here to see it.

I really wish our soccer team wasn’t crashing and burning like they are right now, would be the cherry on top of a great year.

But outside of that, what a year for the record books!

That and the hosting the conference Baseball Tourney but finishing as the Runner-Up instead of winning it.

Not only that, but we hosted the A-10 Tourney after some A-10 coaches tried to keep us from hosting, and it ended up being the highest attended A-10 Tournament EVER (by a large margin).

It’s because we are better and have the most kick a$$ facilities there is! Boo ya A10!

Reasons like this is why the A-10 will always be small time.
