The Sendek's huh? Well it would be two of the most highly educated coaches, both with masters(I believe Bobby has two and Sendek has one from Carnegie Mellon?) Perhaps they will just have a gameplan bettle or play chess.
I think I would go with Sendek in the education department.

You might be surprised. Lutz is a VERY intelligent guy! You might argue his basketball IQ isn’t so high, but overall IQ I’m guessing is pretty impressive!

I know he is an intelligent guy, but I wouldn’t put him past Sendek.
Arizona State’s website has some links to the history between Charlotte and Arizona State/Coach Sendek in their pregame story…

So, it's your fault we've had a bad season so far.
When I think of Sendek, the nightmarish 2nd half of the NCAA game against State in Worchester, MA always comes to mind.
Once he realized the refs were going to let us play, he had his team get extra physical and we never adjusted.
I got up after 4 hours of sleep to hit up a bar after being up for 24 hours straight the previous day for St. Patricks day, all to see us choke away a 2nd round matchup with a paper tiger #2 UConn…What a wasted season.
In our weekly Arizona State men’s hoops update, we find James Harden lighting up the scoreboard and we preview this weekend’s 76 Classic in Anaheim. We even dug up a highlight video introducing the tournament’s top players including the Sun Devil below.

Jeff Pendergraph’s “Super Funk”
Don’t miss our post from earlier today on Jeff Pendergraph’s self-described “super funk”—and the teammate that may be causing it.
Last Week (3-0): 80-64 W vs. Mississippi Valley State, 59-52 W at San Diego State, 61-40 W vs. Pepperdine
What Did We Learn: First off, this Arizona State team feeds off its defense. When the Sun Devils made their run in the second half against Pepperdine it was sparked by a stifling zone defense. That led to easy transition baskets. ASU forced 20 turnovers in the game for an absolutely silly average of one every two minutes.
We also learned that the scoring will have to start coming – consistently – from someone other than James Harden. No other Sun Devil averages more than 10.3 points per game. Against Pepperdine, Jeff Pendergraph was 1-for-4 from the field for five points in 29 minutes, Rihards Kuksiks had just two points after a hot start in the first two games, and Ty Abbott was held scoreless.
Star of the Week: Hmm … tough pick here … how about Harden! The sophomore is averaging 25.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. At one point in the second half of the Pepperdine win he was outscoring entire Pepperdine TEAM 28-27. Pepperdine isn’t exactly a powerhouse, but Harden absolutely stuffed the box score with career highs of 33 points and 12 rebounds. He was just 1-for-6 from beyond the arc, but 12-for-19 overall. He’s shooting 61 percent in the first three games, and it’s possible the best player in college basketball wears No. 13 for the Sun Devils.
What’s Next: The undefeated and 14th ranked Sun Devils head to the 76 Classic in Anaheim as the favorites this weekend. Charlotte is up first at 7 p.m. Thursday, with games to follow Friday and Sunday. Wake Forest, St. Mary’s and potential Game Two foe Baylor are all ranked in the top 30, and Baylor, Cal State Fullerton and St. Mary’s all made the tourney last year. It won’t be easy, but if ASU wins this thing it’s confidence – and national reputation – will get a nice boost.

It's not an impossible field, but it's tough. Charlotte of the Atlantic 10 conference returns four starters off last season's 20-win team. The 49ers (1-3) opened with a win over UNC-Greensboro then lost three in a row - by a combined five points.
ASU’s next task will be to contain a Charlotte team (1-3) that Sendek called “very athletic”.
“They really try to make the game frenetic,” Sendek said. “They try to cause chaos. They use multiple defenses; they’re very random it seems in their trapping. Offensively, they have good balance.”
Sendek specifically noted Charlotte guard Ian Andersen. The 6-foot-4-inch junior has already made 13 of 27 3-point attempts this season. By comparison, the Sun Devils have made 18 as a team.
On defense, Charlotte has the unenviable task of trying to contain ASU sophomore guard James Harden.
I would have loved to have a shot at that UConn team. They were so badly living on their program's rep. We could have handled them.
I know… woulda coulda shoulda… :unhappy:
I’ve always thought we let a Sweet 16 appearance slip away from us in the 2nd half of that game. UConn barely slipped by 15 seeded UCF in the first round.
With all due respect, nobody around Arizona State brushed off the first three games of the season as some sort of “patsy” preview to Thursday’s start of the Anaheim Classic.
So with a date tonight against Charlotte, followed by possible weekend dates with Baylor, and perhaps St. Mary’s - all top-30 caliber teams so far - the litmus test begins.
The Charlotte 49ers, coached by Bobby Lutz, will be the Devils’ first opponent. Charlotte won their season opener over UNC-Greensboro, but have dropped three straight heading into the 76 Classic. Sendek is expecting a battle. “They’re one of the favorites in the Atlantic-10, and we’ve seen how good the Atlantic-10 is with Xavier, even Rhode Island. We know we’re dealing with a very talented basketball team,” he said. “They’re very athletic. They try to make the game frenetic, they try to cause chaos. They use multiple defenses. They’re very random, it seems, in their trapping,” Sendek said.
Junior point guard Derek Glasser says that Charlotte has been on the Sun Devil radar for quite some time. “This is a game on our schedule that we’ve been looking forward to. Charlotte’s a good team. Their record, 1-3, is not as good as they are. They’re going to come in and play tough and physical and they are long and athletic, so we gotta be ready for them,” he said.
Arizona State should be tested against the 49ers, who have lost three games by a combined five points. After a one-point loss to Old Dominion and an overtime loss to Appalachian State, Charlotte nearly pulled off the upset against Clemson on Saturday.
The 49ers fell, 71-70, to the Atlantic Coast Conference foe despite 21 points off the bench from Ian Andersen, who sank 7-of-11 3-point attempts. Senior Lamont Mack leads the 49ers with 14 points a game.
