OT: Bubble Watch

I did a little number crunching and if everything falls into place with the small conferences and the teams that are locks win their conf tourneys, that would leave 11 at large spots left for the bubble teams. (Assuming St. Mary’s is in, St. Joe’s wins A-10, Miami(OH) wins MAC, Utah wins Mnt West, Nevada wins WAC)

Which 11 would you take from this list?
GA Tech, Maryland, NC State, VA Tech, Miami, Geo Washington, Georgetown, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Iowa St., Texas A&M, DePaul, UAB, Akron, Buffalo, N. Iowa, Wichita St., New Mexico, Arizona St., Vanderbilt, Davidson, and UTEP.

This is who espn lists as teams on the bubble.

GA Tech, VA Tech, Geo Washington or St. Joe’s (depending on who wins the A10 tourny), Notre Dame, West Virginia, Minnesota, Iowa St., DePaul, UAB, Buffalo, New Mexico

This is tougher than it looks.

Ga. Tech, Va. Tech, GW, Notre Dame, Minnesota, Buffalo, New Mexico, DePaul, Iowa State, Miami and UTEP

georgia tech, indiana, depaul, maryland, notre dame, george washington, minnesota, n.c. state, va. tech., texas a&m, utep.

Did they just ‘throw out’ Memphis? Memphis would trounce Davidson or or UTEP - if it is up to the ‘best’ teams then Maryland, GT, Miami, UAB, Arizona St., NC State, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Depaul and a ‘flyer’ on Vanderbilt.

In no particular order:

GA Tech, ND, IU, Minn, DePaul, Davidson, VaTech, IowaSt, GW, NM, and… hmmm… who cares about the last.

I don’t support putting any team that finishes 7-9 in their own conference in the tourney, but I expect I’ll be disappionted with MD and/or NCSU making it by riding their conferences’ coattails

What if Pacific, Vermont, Miami (OH), Utah, and Nevada don’t win their tourneys, then who would you pick? (Assuming Pacific, Utah, and Nevada are locks).

Which 8 would you take from this list?
GA Tech, Maryland, NC State, VA Tech, Miami, Geo Washington, Georgetown, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Iowa St., Texas A&M, DePaul, UAB, Akron, Buffalo, N. Iowa, Wichita St., New Mexico, Arizona St., Vanderbilt, Davidson, UTEP, Vermont, Miami (OH)

Geez, now FoxSports.com is taking up the Wolfpack / Sendek “crying” cause…

Bubble teams are thanking Old Dominion today. The Monarchs' tournament title Monday saved an at-large spot for a team like N.C. State. In our latest Breaking the Bracket, see how the Wolfpack became the final team in and why Maryland may have to face the NIT.

FOXSports.com: N.C. State benefits most from ODU win

Does this guy write for the Observer? :o
