Really it seems like Monmouth pulled that win out of nowhere! Tell me how a team that was (0-3) before that game comes out winning by nine! I think that game was just a fluke! i hope it was.
guess that means the Niners are going to have to kill Monmouth now!:49ers:
Is the 49orbust?

Does that help?
He is a big TMBG fan.
i was being sarcastic when i said that. I saw the TMBG Concert topic. Iâve been browsing around this place longer than you think.
Thereâs no room for sarcasm on this message board.
granted - we SHOULD walk away with 2 wins, one on UIC (which we did) and one on monmouth - do you think it would have been more of a moral boost had we been able to play teams taht people have actually heard of in this tourney like ND or wichita?

2-3 years ago when GW was 18-1 or something, they were all weak teams, but there was a big sense of pride.
A win against Monmouth, is better than some level of moral victory against GT. Kinda like bobby lutz said after the high point game on the radio âwinning beats losing everytimeâ.
Saying that, we must come to play tomorrow. We must win the games we should, that alone will make us better than the teams of the last 2 years. i.e. North Texas, Houston by 22, Davidson by 28, and in 2006 Northwester, Wyoming, Valpo, Richmond.
We really need to get better offensively. Our defense is good.
Who wouldâve thunk that?

A team we probably âshould haveâ beat, but a bit better than those others was Mississippi State in the home opener in 05-06âŚUGHHHH NINE Point first halfâŚ
These touraments are great when you win the first game or two. Once you lose these are the opponents you end up. This is another game we SHOULD win. All I recall about Monmouth is they got there @$$es kicked by Duke the year the won the NCAA tournament in Greensboro.
Yes, we should beat Mush Mouth, but I hope the guys dont sleep on them.
This years team isnât good enough to overlook ANYONE.
A team we probably "should have" beat, but a bit better than those others was Mississippi State in the home opener in 05-06.......UGHHHH NINE Point first half.............
I try everything to make that game appear as if it never happened period
Monmouth has lost to Colgate, Seton Hall (in OT), and Notre Dame (by 43 points).
Iâm sure the fans of Witicha State thought Monmouth would be an easy win. I donât think we can overlook any team.
I got drunk there once.
Me too⌠at some fraternity party⌠then went streaking (this was durnig the streaking fad days) around the block in Red Bank, New Jersey (or whatever town it was in) while not having any idea where I wasâŚ
Thatâs all I know about Monmouth College.

GAME NOTES: The Monmouth Hawks shoot for their second straight win tonight as they challenge the Charlotte 49ers during the championship round of the 2007 Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands. After losing three straight games to begin 2007-08 versus the likes of Colgate, Seton Hall and Notre Dame, the Hawks took care of Wichita State in this tournament on Saturday with a 59-50 victory. As for the 49ers, they opened with back-to-back victories over High Point and Appalachian State at home, but when it came to the opening round of the Paradise Jam the squad was turned away by Georgia Tech in an 82-77 decision on Friday. The outcome dropped Charlotte into the losers side of the bracket, pitting it against Illinois-Chicago on Saturday, a meeting that resulted in a narrow 64-63 win for the 49ers. With respect to the all-time series between these two schools on the hardwood, this is the first-ever meeting.
Leemire Goldwire shot just 4-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-9 beyond the arc, but he still managed to hit a critical basket in the waning moments over the weekend to provide the 49ers with a one-point win over UIC. Goldwire finished with 14 points, as did Lamont Mack, while Ian Andersen came off the bench to offer up 10 points in 23 minutes. The reserves played a huge role for the 49ers, combining for 27 of the teamâs 64 points. Goldwire, who has held at least a share of the scoring lead in every game this season for Charlotte, leads the squad overall with his 20.0 ppg, despite shooting only 38.9 percent from the field and already having more turnovers (11) than assists (five). Mack checks in with an even 10 ppg, which means he and Goldwire account for almost half of the teamâs 71.5 ppg.
After making only six field goals in the first half on Saturday night, the Hawks bounced back in the second frame by not only shooting 41.7 percent from the floor and 16-of-22 at the free-throw line, but also by limiting WSU to 7- of-23 from the field and 0-of-9 beyond the arc in the nine-point decision. Jhamar Youngblood and Whitney Coleman both tallied 17 points for Monmouth, although they also combined to account for 10 of the squadâs 18 turnovers as well. Through the first four games of the season, Youngblood has at least held a share of the scoring lead, resulting in his team-best 18.0 ppg. However, all is not perfect with Youngblood because heâs shooting just 57.1 percent at the charity stripe and already has 17 turnovers. The same goes for Coleman (12.0 ppg) who is shooting a mere 38.1 percent from the field and 5-of-21 beyond the arc, not to mention having 21 miscues of his own.
Should the Hawks play sloppy in this game as they are prone to do, Charlotte will not allow it to go unpunished, which means Goldwire and company will capitalize and work their way into the win column.
Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Charlotte 67, Monmouth 60
