OUT COACHED

again. Nice job Bobby.
Can we ban morons like you?

We got out-everythinged tonight. Their team outplayed us straight up. Goldwire couldn’t get any shots open. Coley had a good game. Harris and Gerrity played decent games. That’s it imo.

I’ve been pissed at him before too, but it’s not all his fault.

Honestly, we were out played and out coached. Couldn’t have ended the season on a worse note.

Not bashing our team, just my honest opinion. I only hope we learn from this and it provides motivation for next year.

Exactly. I kept waiting for the team to punch back, but never did. Showed no fight and no heart (sans Coley). And yes, Lutz got outcoached as well. It was embarrassing all across the board.

(sans Coley)

Not to be one of those people who are annoying and correct spelling on here, but according to the ā€œspecialā€ announcers, his name is Cooley. They are on ESPN and they obviously know more than us.

All joking aside, I truly think those guys were retarded.

That was a clear example of good all-around fundamental basketball versus an offense setup primarily to get one guy 3pt looks. It was proven again that if a team can play tight defense on Lee, in most cases we will struggle to score, and look lost on the offensive end of the court. Nebraska displayed many of the things we need to change about our offensive strategy. They showed a thorough understanding of what they were trying to do, displayed CRISP passing, and had constant movement by everyone on offense.

Like many have said already though, our players were totally outplayed also. We are too soft when we take the ball to the basket. Even their smaller guys were blocking our big guy’s shots. That is why we cannot finish shots in the paint. We have to develop a physical and mental toughness. It is time to go with the Tom Izzo tactics, and start practicing with football equipment on, and have the guys get as physical and aggressive as possible.
OUT COACHED should be a sticky on here. He sucks. But he’ll be back for more thrilling NIT appearances. Until next year’s disappointing season, see ya!
i get the feeling you are glad we lost. we played like crap. but the only time you ever post anything is to rub a loss in our face.

i have to agree with this.

**** you.

You crazy kids, get Lutz's schlong out of your mouth. Have a nice summer ladies
Hey, you geeks need to have something to do with your time. Therefore, I give you something to write all night about. You guys can't resist LOL
And **** you.

To the bashers:
All you people ever do is come out of the woodwork after every GD loss and blame it on Bobby. Is it his fault we lost tonight? Maybe. Maybe we were tired from playing so many games in such a short amount of time. Maybe we were out coached by Doc Sadler, who is working on a rebuild of his own.

You guys bitch and whine and ask for the world. How do you expect the world in a state where we get overshadowed by the Duke’s and the Chapel Hill’s? Do you honestly think we could get a coach of the caliber of Williams and K? No way in hell that would happen. We can’t get those coaches because we can’t afford those coaches. You all think we can get a diamond in the rough to coach here. Yes, it’s possible, but it won’t last.

Give me a name of another coach who will buy into this program like Bobby Lutz. I dare you to. Bobby Lutz does nothing but bleed Green & White. Yes he interviewed at USA. He was told to by the AD. this man is as All-In as anyone we can get.

I’m done. I refuse to even acknowledge any kind of Lutz talk or ā€œOh my how far we’ve fallenā€

Go **** yourselves.

YAWN

I feel bad b/c you were there Jim.

Lutz wasn’t out-coached. We looked hung over from Atlantic City and didn’t do the things we need to do to win. We’ll get better.

People on here get WAY too worked up over what people on here say. Everybody here can have their own opinion, no need to bash it just because you don’t agree with it. I don’t care what anybody says, Lutz has a HORRIBLE offensive gameplan. Lutz is very good at setting up a great defense, but our offense is painful to watch. There are a lot of great coaches out there that don’t have a fat wallet, that has nothing to do with it.

This is not a bash Bobby post, but a couple things need to be said. We cannot continue to make excuses for our players and/or coaches when we stink up the joint. Switchfoot, getting outcoached was DEFINITELY part of the problem tonight (but not the only problem).

CharlotteLacrosse, you have to lighten up dude. The ā€œFire Lutzā€ crowd and the ā€œLutz Can Do No Wrongā€ crowd both have legitimate points. I do have one real question for you though: Do you think Bobby (or any other head coach for that matter) would be a better coach if they were paid more? I truly believe that Bobby is a better head coach than some guys that are out there making more money than he does, but I also believe there are some ā€œdiamond in the roughā€ coaches (head and assistant) out there that are better coaches than he is. They are just waiting on the opportunity to advance their careers. All of the great coaches started as unknown commodities until they got the chance to prove themselves.

Like I said earlier, I’m not saying fire Bobby, but we should never portray the attitude that we can’t do any better than where we are at now. Without the hope of achieving the highest level, then you are just going through the motions.

No, I dont think any coach would be a better coach because of money. Are there better coaches out there? Of course. But I think Bobby is the best we have for a while. That's not a shot at the school, Bobby, or anyone else. I just don't think that with the resources we have available, we can't get a coach like Lutz who believes in the school. Unless, of course, that coach is a graduate.

And I hope, in the future, Lee Gold becomes a coach and ends up coaching here. I think he’d be awesome.

I hope so also. Lee is a tireless worker who loves the Charlotte family.

Yea guys, lets ban all the Lutz haters! They shouldn’t exist b/c bobby is GOD!

I might have to make this my sig line.

Holy Fundamentals Batman! If i came here from Korea last night I would have thought Nebraska was a contender for the national championship, and Charlotte was the equivalent of NJIT.

We got worked on fundamentals, if Neb could throw it in the ocean the first 10 min this would have been even uglier. At half time 20% our points were from two insane alley-oops.

To come on here and disagree that we weren’t outcoached is irresponsible to the niner community’s future and the game of basketball. Nebraska could do anything at will, wanna play zone? we’ll do this, going to man? okay we’ll score this way, Lee, you are not going to beat us, etc. They did not take a bad shot. I’ll repeat that for those who have watched us for 25+ games. They DID not take a bad shot. Time after time I saw what looked like a good shot, they’d pass it 2 or 3 more times and get a better one.

Bobby is a good coach, he can get us back to where we need to be, but efforts like tonight are embarrassing. This is why we suck in the tourney. Other teams bring their stud game preparation, we bring our shot selection and a word of prayer. It gets (has gotten) very old.

You’ll break this promise by Friday at noon.

Nebraska last played Friday, Thursday, and the previous Sunday. We played Friday, Thursday, Wednesday. Is Nebraska on HGH or something?

I usually don’t harp or bash Bobby any on this board, but I must say I have to agree with the haters this time, Bobby was outcoached. While the team didn’t do any favors, what play did we run everytime down the floor in a halfcourt set…

Yup you guessed it,

Leemire running the baseline curling out for a 3, he’s the only one moving, no one else in motion and yup you guessed it, easy for a defense to key in on.

Doc Sadler knew we were going with the hopefully Leemire scores 30+ from 3 land gameplan, so he just rotated bodies in and out and made sure Leemire couldn’t move. How many times did penetrate with the dribble, then kick? You can count it on one hand if there was any.

Yet, Nebraska would dribble and drive, for a wide-open 3 everytime. Honestly, they had so many open 3’s it wasn’t funny.

We came into this game unprepared for what Nebraska does on offense and what they might do to stop Lee defensively. Doc Sadler had his team prepared to stop Lee and to play discipline offense taking advantage of the inside.

You’d think we’d try something different every once in a while when in the halfcourt set, yet it was the same ol’ same ol’ and the team looked and played like they didn’t know what to do.
