OZZFEST FREE!

Anyone else on here going to this?

http://www.ozzfest.com/

I got my 2 free tickets yesterday. Can’t wait… crowd should be beyond interesting.

8/28/2007 Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Charlotte, NC 7 p.m.

The only act I really want to see is Ozzy… waited decades… wish Randy Rhoads was still with him… and us.

[SIZE=2] Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon, launched Ozzfest in 1996

Tickets for Ozzy Osbourne’s touring US festival Ozzfest will be free this year, the rock star has announced.
For the last 11 years, tickets for the touring rock music festival have steadily climbed in price.
“It’s business as usual, except it’s free. We want to encourage new music and new talent,” said the singer’s wife and manager Sharon Osbourne.

The Black Sabbath singer will headline the 25-date tour, which will begin on 7 July in Los Angeles.

In the past, fans have been asked to pay up to $150 (£76) for Ozzfest tickets.

Gary Bongiovanni, editor of the concert trade publication Pollstar, said this is the first time admission has been free for a US touring festival.
“It’s a phenomenal idea,” he said.

Retirement denial
Tour sponsors will pick up the cost of any overheads and bands will perform for free on multiple outdoor stages.

Fans can obtain tickets through websites set up for the event.
Sharon Osbourne denied rumours that her husband plans to retire after the festival.

“He’s been touring 30, 35 years, and he’s done very well, and it’s time to give something back,” she told the Associated Press.
“If he goes out one summer of his life and he doesn’t get paid, big deal.” He has nearly finished recording a new solo album, which is due out the last week of June.

Some tickets I think are still available (lawn) for the Charlotte show. Let’s get some Niners there:

Awesome! You can see a strung out has been stumble around stage and mumble into a mic as he throws water into the crowd. I’ve seen Ozzy before. Trust me, there is a reason it is free.

Well, I still think it will be a blast… Looking forward to hearing some of the old favorites. Stumbling or not, the man’s a legend and practically invented heavy metal.

Funny thing about Ozzy is you can’t understand him when he speaks, but you can when he sings… go figure.

It’s going to be great.

I may go…mainly because it’s free though, as most of the lineup kinda sucks.

Other than Ozzy, Hatebreed, and Lamb of God, there aren’t any more acts I’m super-interested in seeing.

But I can walk to the amphitheater from the house…so it’d be something good to do on a long, drunken afternoon.

That would be an awesome lineup to see. Saw Hatebreed a few years back at Tremont with God Forbid, great time!! May have to do the same thing as drummer.

That’s the spirit!!! :lmao: :toast:

Don’t forget to bring tickets. They won’t let you in w/o them, even thought they’re free… (explain that one).

Cause they make money off your email address, which you have to provide to get the tickets, with marketing and crap.

there’s no such thing as a free lunch

GOT MINE!!!:49ers:

Hatebreed just came back through Tremont like a month ago w/ God Forbid, Terror, and the Acacia Strain…good show…I actually got hooked up with VIP passes to that one.

Try this link, Gill.

Click on the Redeem Code icon that looks like a ticket next to the Charlotte show. Other shows are popping off as sold out, but Charlotte still has capacity.

yeah I keep click on that, but it just keeps telling they’ve reached their download allotment.

Ah, shoot. I’m sorry, Gill. I thought they still had some left. They need to update that link I showed you then to say sold out or something.

The problem with this whole thing is I know a lot of 11 and 12 year olds are probably downloading tickets who will not go. And, the people who would go don’t get a chance to because of this. I’m interesting in seeing what the crowd will be like.

That sounds like an amazing show to see…I’ll have to keep my eyes open for them more often. Love seeing those guys.

i didnt even know hatebreed was still around. i saw them back in high school, 1995 or so, at tremont. I think they were playing with Stretch Armstrong and Sick of it All.

Ah, the good ol’ Victory Records 90s straight edge hardcore scene. it’ll always have a special place in my heart.
