PAC10 to offer invites to 6 Big 12 schools

VT and the U AD’s state they are happy where they are:

I wouldn’t consider UVA a turd. One big difference, they have football already, and its FBS.

I meant as in they aren’t good at anything.

Same posturing UT did. Don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings if a shift falls through.

If someone was looking to change jobs but has nothing lined up yet, he would not tell the company he currently works for that it sucks and he hopes to move as soon as he can.

EDIT: I.E., See Beasley.

I would think Tennessee would have issues with VT getting a SEC invite. They’re already the Volunteer’s closest FBS neighbor.

Meant Texas and the Big 12…and Texas is jumping.

Texas to the SEC? Will that make A&M go to the MWC of Pac10?

After what the state of Virginia legislature did to get VTech in the ACC, I doubt they want VTech to separate themselves from Virginia. I wonder if VTech got told that they were to be happy where they are. I also think that Tennessee would not be rolling out the welcome wagon for them either.

Really? Do I have to spell it out?

VA Tech and the U are saying they are happy in the ACC.

Texas said it is happy in the Big 12. But it looks like the Big 12 is accepting an offer to the PAC 10.

Thus, it is not difficult to foresee the U accepting an offer into the SEC at the time SEC announces any expansion.

sort of like we were happy in The Metro Conference before we had a chance to join CUSA. and sort of like Bobby was happy here until UT came calling.

The difference is: the Big XII is a better conference for football and basketball, and will be even better over the next 4-5 years now that USC got castrated. If the Big XII were to get their own TV network the schools departing wouldn’t need to leave to increase their TV revenue take. They could have their cake and eat it too if they stay put.

Some folks get updates on the status of their team and their plans.

I think they call that “leadership”.

must be nice to have a forward looking statement, smh

there is even an article in the observer about the options ecu has for going to a different conference.

Terry Holland sure enough ain’t afraid to call a spade a spade. Nothing “stealth” about him.

Dick Vitale think university leaders are all hypocrites:

We were debating this a few pages ago. Not completely sure the Big12 is the better football conference, especially with Nebraska, and Colorado leaving. I certainly think it’s in UT’s best interest to stay in the Big12 because it will be an easier road to a Nat Championship.

Is the insider an VT grad, so that it sounds like they had the upper hand? Because I don’t think there’s any way in hell that VT would turn down the SEC.
