Charlotte has offered, along with UMass, DePaul, Georgetown, Marquette, and UCF. Young is ranked #147 on the Rivals Top 150 and visited UMass this past weekend.

More on Young from ESPN.com…

Barnes proves worthy of hype[/b] [NOTE: see Surprise Player]

Interesting another PG and Lutz all over Tyler Lewis for the future PG spot.

We of all people should know you have to make damn sure to have enough pgs.

We are all over the place with that last schollie…could be a pg, swingman, or big man…interesting. Probably just looking for best available…

I thought we were good at point, and we were looking for SF.

Commits to DePaul.

Commits to DePaul.

So? Give him a call.

So? Give him a call.

thats a different brandon young. the one we offered is still available.

Huh? Rivals link showing that Brandon Young out of Baltimore gave a strong verbal to Depaul. How’s it a different Brandon Young?

nevermind, i was wrong. i looked at scouthoops and it showed a two brandon youngs but one was his profile before he transferred.

and so it goes…

it sound like we got in on this guy too late. it probably didnt help that we have so many guards. it would be nice to hear about us having some recruits on campus. i dont think we are going to land justin coleman but it sounds like we still have a shot at mccarter. im suprised we havent offered a center yet. we should look at david nyarsuk. i know ohio state and tennesse are following him but i dont think either have offered. no offense to wilderness or dewhurst but i dont think the coaching staff sees them as the answer at small forward so they know they need to recruit a star. we can definitly offer playing time at small forward.

think they are just looking at depth. we had no post threat last year and with upgraded frontcourt anjuan will have a great year. He dominated every game we just generally cant get the ball to them unless they are outside the arc. this is why its hard for us to recruit the SF

Anjuan and Dewhurst not the answer? So you think a freshman would come in and be a better option than 2 seniors. Unless we are getting a top 50 recruit, I don’t see that happening. Wilderness and Dewhurst offer a refreshing style of play when I go to the game. They aren’t looking to jack up the 3 every chance they can get and actually understand that you must attack the basket to be effective in the college game.

Per this, Young re-opened his recruitment. (Had also read the same thing on UMass board.)

BTW, per Rivals, Young is still #147. Also notice that #146 6-8 PF Jonathan Graham of Baltimore is available as well.

And he has Davidson as a school of interest. Hope coaches are on that. We’ve had success in that area before.
