I think Phil looked solid, however, not anymore than I expected. In fact, I thought he looked very tired and out of breath much of time. I hope he is in game shape soon and ready for the long season. I was happy with Wilderness, Gab and Mack. Shocked at how awful Coley looked. Hope he was just nervous but by first look, worst hands Iāve seen in Halton. That bein said, if he can hold on once a game itāll have the house rockin. I am excited to see how this all pans out.
Go Niners!
I still think it shouldnāt seem so clear cut who is better. I really think the Goonj might be better than Phil.

Iām not quite sure what you were expecting. Iād agree that he never really got a good handle on the basketball and missed some razzle-dazzle attempts - but I donāt know if that means he was shockingly awful. Coley did have a decent share of boards and got a couple assists. Perhaps you wouldnāt settle for anything less than a 70 point margin of victory?
Cāmon, itās an exhibition! If the players are smart, they should try to ignore the score a little bit and test themselves and their teammates. Maybe make your passes harder or higher than how you would normally fling 'em. Since itās better to mess up now than later ⦠why not test each otherās limitations to better understand the people youāll be playing with? I had a feeling that Leemire was doing a little bit of that at point guard with good and bad results. After all, we were playing the Gee-Gees.
Coleyās limitations need to be tested anyway since no one knows what they are yet. His juco coach thinks we got a good one - someone with the right attitude and the dedication to develop his raw skills to go along with the freakish athleticism. So weāll have to wait and see whether that will turn out to be an accurate assessment. Itās too early to be shocked - at least wait until after the UNCW exhibition.
speaking of big phil and this thought may be out of left field but since we are talking about gaby being our backup center. i really would like to see us go after a backup center for next season to give us more depth at the center position. he doesnt have to be spectatular but it could really go a long way in helping phil and keeping us from having gaby at center.
he can score inside too something some of our former big guys apparently didnt know how to do

OK, maybe that was a little harsh but just my initial opinion. Guess I ws just hoping to see him not loose the ball just once, to see what he could do. I have heard that he has a good attitude and hope he becomes a factor in our system. Just that I was impressed with most everyone else including Harris (which I didnāt mention earlier) and wanting to see more from Coley. Either way, I canāt wait to see what Friday has in store.
