Iād like to be excited about his chances. Iām not.

My son and I taped it and watched all the Pierria Henry playing time.
This was really interesting.
Very unusual to see Pierria not be the focus. He play 17 minutes. He took no shots! He had a few good passes including a real dime off a drive and dish that the receiver messed up on. He had one monster athletic block from behind on a run out. He got a steal and got intentionally fouled and sunk both free throws.
He passed up several shots to pass off to other guys. Several time he was open but wasnāt passed to.
As I said this was unusual for us to see.
At first it was a bit concerning but the fact that he passed up some shots for passes, handled the ball well, played hard D and was really steady ( he only made one error that I saw and that was when someone passed him the ball among the trees in a bad spot) made me think that he was out there simulating a role. Backup or third point guard role and was not expected to look for his shot.
I thought he looked really calm and steady out there and unlike every other player not selfish about getting his shot.
Hopefully the coaches liked what they saw.
He did have five fouls, four quickly on the first half. Thatās an issue.[/quote]
Itās a smart idea. His shooting would never earn him a roster spot.

Stats say he was 1 of 4 shooting from the link above.

I think you were looking at the first games box score.
Here is last nights. He didnāt take a shot.
Getting noticed.
@TrabsMatt: ā¦great size at 6-5 that does a little bit of everything in PierriĆ” Henry had himself a solid 2015 NBA Summer League performance todayā¦
@TrabsMatt: ā¦for the Rockets vs. the Bucks: 9 points, 6 reb., 3 assists, no turnovers & 3 steals (averaged 2.4 SPG over his 4-year career for 49ers).
Very solid game from Henry today. Played 26 minutes, which was by far the most of any Rockets bench player.
Just wish he could of put these types of numbers up every game.
Damn. Forgot to tape it
I watched the game they played against the Raptors. Pierria made a lot of nice hustle plays, one in particular got the Rockets bench up and alive, cheering him on. Had a nice take to the rim and even made a 3! Henry passes the eye test, he looks like an NBA athlete and can play with any of those guys athletically. And he actually played pretty smart with the ball. He did not look like the turnover machine he could sometimes be in college. (Maybe he was always trying too hard to make plays with our offensively challenged team?) They put him in at crunch time in that one and again vs the Bucks. Thatās always a good sign. I would be surprised to see him make the Rockets or anything like that, but maybe heāll get a chance to play with them or someone else during the preseason. Based on how heās been playing, he should at least find himself on a D league team this fall.
Does anyone know if Henry has worked out with Coach Price at all? Any time with Price could do wonders for his game.

I was able to catch the game last night as well.
I gotta admit, Henry played really well in last nights game. He forced some great turnovers against the other teams guards and had some excellent assists from down court. You could see the difference in how the Rockets played once they put Henry back in the game. He was under control and made some great decisions with the ball. I wouldnāt be surprised to see him on an NBA roster one day. His defense and ability to run a team can get him in the league if he improves his 3 point shot.
Saw the game on league pass as well. Henry did play really, he was clearly the best perimeter defender out there. Let the offense come to him when it was his turn as well.
Lets hope he keeps working on that jumper and makes it in the league one day.
He would instantly be my favorite NBA player
Iām pulling for P but man if we land a player in the NBA and all we could do in his 4 yrs was make 1 NIT and lose Iām gonna be pissed.
I watched the Milwaukee game finally on replay. Yeah he played really well. He seemed a cut above the other guards on the summer league roster in basketball IQ. As the earlier poster stated he ālooksā like he belongs. Height, speed, tenacity, etc. there was one at he really out in the afterburners on a drive. Really impressive. The team played much better with him on the court.
He did miss a 3. Thatās the Achilles heel. If he had a three ball this probably would be a no brainer. Of course if he had the three ball maybe he gets drafted.
I would be shocked if he doesnāt make a D league roster or get a contract in Europe.
If he gets the coaching he needs to fix his shot, I could see him making some noise.

Wouldāve loved to see him get that coaching while he was in college.
The messed up thing is that Mark Price is exactly the kind of coach he needs to work with. I canāt say how well Price will do as head coach, but he could have taught Pierria to shoot. I really hope he makes it.
No, he could not have. Might have been able to help with his BBall IQ though.

If he can fix MKGās shot, then he could have fixed Pierriaās.
Is there a way to avoid paying the NBA 5 bucks to watch?
This is yet another indication the prior coaching staff had no clue how to win games, nothing really new here, just wish the admin would have figured it out a year earlier.
pierria plus a year of dorn who will play in the nba. we really do not understand how much we underachieved with major. it almost does not make sense how we were 14-18 or whatever we were last season. 19-12 would be underachieving with that team but seriously.
