Pierria Henry to the Houston Rockets Summer League team

Glad to see PH get the opportunity, hope he can make the most of it.

Good for him… Hope he can turn this into something

This is awesome. Really hope it pans out.

  • Unintended gold mining reference? ;D

Still have a ton of Byron Dinkins Rockets trading cards

I want one. ;D

me too!

A friend of mine who is a Rockets fan is pumped after seeing the infamous football video and the FSU dunk/ejection. He thinks he might be able help DHoward grow a set.

Link?

It would carry on a 49er PG tradition. I believe Houston is also where Colson earned most of his NBA experience.

I think he had one 10 day contract at that was it. But yes, with Houston.

Pierria Henry is angry

This may not be the only time it he will be televised this week , their where a few summer league games listed without team descriptions, but the first one I can find is next Sunday on NBAtv (Houston rockets summer league team)

I looked on the Rockets Summer League website and do not see Henry listed on the roster, or in the box scores for games played. What is going on here?

When I looked, I thought I didn’t see the first game until 7/10.

Okay, I am apparently dumber than a Chapel Hill power forward. I guess this is last year’s webpage (which is real helpful). I saw the scores and boxscores and did not pay attention to the dates.

First game was today, box score --> http://www.nba.com/games/20150710/DLSHOU/gameinfo.html

Did anyone else watch this game?

My son and I taped it and watched all the Pierria Henry playing time.

This was really interesting.

Very unusual to see Pierria not be the focus. He play 17 minutes. He took no shots! He had a few good passes including a real dime off a drive and dish that the receiver messed up on. He had one monster athletic block from behind on a run out. He got a steal and got intentionally fouled and sunk both free throws.

He passed up several shots to pass off to other guys. Several time he was open but wasn’t passed to.

As I said this was unusual for us to see.

At first it was a bit concerning but the fact that he passed up some shots for passes, handled the ball well, played hard D and was really steady ( he only made one error that I saw and that was when someone passed him the ball among the trees in a bad spot) made me think that he was out there simulating a role. Backup or third point guard role and was not expected to look for his shot.

I thought he looked really calm and steady out there and unlike every other player not selfish about getting his shot.

Hopefully the coaches liked what they saw.

He did have five fouls, four quickly on the first half. That’s an issue.
