I keep reading about several point guards we are recruiting, but have not seen where we are leading for any of them. Late signing period is about 4 weeks away, and I am starting to feel like we may not even get a decent Juco. I most of you have more knowledge on recruiting than I do, so are we close to getting a commitment from a point guard? We must have a backup for Harris next year, or we will be waiting for the next year again. Harris played great this year, but games were hard on him if we played a team that could muscle him as he still pretty small. Playing 40 minutes a game will also wear you out as well.
we are in the final four for akeem richmond. as a freshmen, he was rated as one of the top ten players in his class. he also sounds like he is a big time scorer. i know it is down to us, rhode island, south florida and ecu. i think south florida is after him the hardest so i think they are the team to beat.
Lutz went to see Trevin Parks play in the NC HS playoffs multiple times a few weeks ago, I wouldn’t be surprised if he is a Niner in the fall. He’s a huge under-the-radar player (doesn’t have a profile on Scout or Rivals), but our coaches obviously see something in him.
does he have scholarship offers from any other d1 schools. if he doesnt maybe we can get him to walk on.

It’s hard to tell since he doesn’t have a profile, but one of the game write-ups I’ve read on him says he has “D1 interest”. He did make hte Big O’s all 3A team last year so I imagine his name is out there on some radars other than ours. He’s an unknown, but it seems like he can play, it’ll be interesting to see how it plays out. I’m not sure Lutz would make mulitple trips in-season to see him if we were wanting him to walk on, but maybe that is the case.

I agree, I have no idea how heavily we are recruiting him, but he definitely seems like a target for us (walk on or scholarship, who knows?), so I wanted to throw him out there.

FWIW, since I didn’t post everything I read about the Jones de-commit, it happened last month and just now being publicized, so don’t think there’s a link with Curry’s transfer. Just sounds like Jones likes to de-commit since he had already done it previously with UofL.
Interesting, I wonder if we are going back after him?
If Jones signed VT would have been 1 scholly over, so I’m wondering if this has something to do with that.

My best friend’s brother’s girlfriend, knows this guy, who knows this kid, who’s going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess its pretty serious.
