The students rushed the court on us.
That is all.

The only positive I found is it now public knowledge that this team is no different than any other Bobby Lutz team.
They will scramble for an at large berth in the NCAA’s and lose in the 1st round…if they are lucky.
Have fun all you spin doctors who to talk about how all is not lost. You are living in a land of make believe.
If Bobby Lutz can’t find a way to beat this inferior ECU team then Mark Packer is smarter than this board gives him credit for.
HAHAHAHA. I did get a kick out of seeing those kids rush the court. That’s a little respect I guess.
I was in there with the students, and admit I was a little suprised to see us rush the court. But I think when you have been struggling throughout the year like we have, and have came so close the past few years to beating UNCC in Minges, it feels very good to finally do it. It’s obviously been a very frustrating year to be a Pirate fan, but it felt really good to get that W.
But congrats to you guys for having a great program. Their’s no doubt you guys will be fine… You really didn’t play that bad today, but after constantly getting beat by a team over and over again, our guys might have naturally wanted it a little more.
#1 positive, our trip was cancelled.
DIDN’T PLAY THAT BAD TODAY!!! Watching ECU has obviously skewed your ability to tell what good basketball really is. I do not think , besides Withers, we could have played any worse.

If you do not think we played bad, please look at the box scores.
We couldn’t throw it in the ocean
We didn’t score for the final 6:41 seconds of the game. I think that is pretty bad.
Come on, this is the positives from the game.
The inability to score may have been attributed to ECU’s defense.

I have been to more UNCC basketball games over the years than you think (most to even cheer for the green back in the day). Looking at your team didn’t make me think you played that bad. You guys hit some clutch shots, especially to start the 2nd half. But ok, if you want me to be a jerk about it, then I would be glad to do that too.
But instead, I think I’ll just enjoy the win. Good game niners.

Have another beer, pal.
Before I pour another bottle of ink, let’s face some facts between these 2 teams & their standing in C-USA.
Keep in mind there are 14 teams in the conference.
Scoring Offense - Charlotte #3, ECU - #13
Scoring Defense - Charlotte #13, ECU - #11
Scoring Margin - Charlotte #3, ECU - #14
FT pct. - Charlotte #10, ECU - #13
FG pct. - Charlotte #5, ECU - #12
FG pct (Defense) - Charlotte #11, ECU - #6
3pt pct. - Charlotte #2, ECU - #14
3pt pct (Defense) - Charlotte #1, ECU - #13
Turnover Margin - Charlotte #6, ECU #13
Assist/Turnover Ratio - Charlotte #6, ECU #14
Sure, you can try & say that your #6 rating in FG pct. (Defense) was the key to the game, but you would be fooling yourself, just like I would if I said the key to our team is our #1 rating in 3 pt pct. (Defense). You have to look at the collective picture.
Bottom line, Charlotte lost to an inferior team (one of the 4 worst teams in C-USA). The entire coaching staff AND each player has some SERIOUS SOUL SEARCHING to do before this season gets completely away from them.
I don’t care if ECU plays the game of their lives, under no circumstances should we have lost to ECU, period. The fact that ECU didn’t play that well and we still lost makes it even worse. We thought the Rutgers loss would hurt most at end of year. It will feel like a finger prick compared to this one. We’ll be lucky if ECU keeps their RPI in the 100’s and not the 200’s. As for our RPI, so much for the rocket climb to respectability. We have no excuses to make for this one. I hope every one of our players is pissed as hell about this and uses it to make them the team they could and should be this year. As for the coaches, I certainly hope somebody on our coaching staff gets a little conviction around the fact that Curtis Withers should be focal point of offense. He was a monster today. The fact that we couldn’t get the ball to him in the crunch demonstrates (again) a lack of game planning and preparation (through practice repititions) that is inexcusable for a team trying to have a breakthrough year. Games like this make me believe that a breakthrough year for the Niners may not be in the cards under the Lutz regime.
I said it earlier this week…i’d be much more impressed with Lutz getting the team to come out fired up and ready vs. ECU,than against cinci. To me,there’s 3 main parts of a coaches job…recruiting, game management(x’s and o’s) and motivation…knowing which buttons to push and how to motivate the team when it’s hardest to motivate them…I think that includes feeling the pulse of your team. Did anyone listen to the TCU game postgame show? Lutz over and over said"this team knows that we can’t overlook ECU,it’s a trap game". Can anyone tell me we weren’t flat as a pancake today.I have no doubt we’ll be sky high for the cinci. game.Shoot…CLT could coach this team in the 3rd person and get us ready to play THAT GAME!
game management(x's and o's)
im kinda wondering about bobby’s idea of a game plan, its definately more of an outside game when they should tear up the middle. hell, withers, basden, drayton, nance can be monsters, and yes even iti could, if they focused more on getting to the inside than the 3 pt. screen and 18ft. jumpers they play for.
worst game ever.
:drink:
it has to get better right?? it can’t get much worse.

we’ll beat cincy at home.

maybe…but i doubt i would make it thru the first half without being tossed.
