Post Season Ticket Info

I doubt they will be put in our region.

Oh, I bet they would (if they accepted)

IIRC, the NIT tries to seed the regions based on the schools’ locations when possible.

ch @ charlotte would be a very sickening site.

Yes they do, but now NIT teams are seeded and if they seed like the NCAAs and use the same criteria, ch does not look like a team that would be a higher seed that would host a first-round game. I don’t think the holes would like that, but of course they ARE the holes and may get preferential treatment. Ya think?

I agree that UNC will refuse to play us in Halton. Here’s the sad part. They can refuse the NIT to avoid a trip to Halton and no one within 50 miles of here will ever know the real reason they turned down the NIT.

I don’t understand why UNC would refuse to play us, or even reject an NIT bid…

Btw, student tickets will be free, and guest ones will be $20.

In truth, neither will we. The idea that they turned down the NIT for no reason other than to avoid a game at Halton would really be nothing more than conjecture and speculation.

You people are full of yourselves if you think they would turn down post season play to avoid Halton.

OK. Pay close attention for the next 39 years and then tell us what you think.

Roy on the NIT:

ā€œIt means a great deal to me,ā€ coach Roy Williams said Friday about the possibility of playing in the postseason - wherever that may be. ā€œAnd I think it could be important to us. But we’ve got to play our way into that.ā€

From the Daily Tarhole after the Wake Win this weekend:

The win resurrects postseason hopes for the Tar Heels. If UNC wins one of its last two games against Miami and at Duke, the Tar Heels will finish better than .500. That means a likely invite to the NIT, maybe even as a host.

Stop the speculation, the NIT is not going to pass up an oppertunity to have the last year champs and one of the TOP 5 BB Programs in the nation play their tourney, they will Be invited, and they will play. Now the question is Against who and where.

I would love to see this in HALTON. I’ve got my Tickets Just in case!

It would be awesome if we get into NIT and play North Carolina in Halton Arena. I’d rather have this then a #16 seed in NCAA tourney and get blown out by 40.

Same here, we’ve proved this season that we aren’t competitive at the NCAA-level… it would be amazing to have UNC at Halton.

No way. NCAA tourney is ALWAYS better…and of course we would NEVER be a 16 seed in the NCAA no matter how we got in. Those are basically ā€œreservedā€ for those bottom 3-4 conference automatics.

hahaha… :)) :)) :))

Obviously, I’d much rather go to the NCAA Tourney, regardless of seed than host a NIT game. Hopefully we play ourselves back into that scenario.

With that said and at the risk of putting myself in front of a firing squad, I do NOT want to hose UNC at Halton. Call me crazy but something about that game really rubs me the wrong way. I know we’re due to beat them but my gut tells me that UNC would pick this game to play their best ball, the refs would be in Roy’s pockets and we’d end up losing. It would be the ultimate slap in the face and I don’t care to even be in that position. I’m okay with running into them later in the tournament though but of course we’d likely be away from Halton.

Moot point now anyway. Tarholes still aren’t guaranteed to make the NIT and the Niners still aren’t guaranteed to be excluded from the Big Dance. Gotta win tonight and then protect home court on Saturday. Then the sky is the limit.

I’m with you JCl. I’d much rather stay away from the holes this season. They are having a terrible year but they do have Talent and knowing 9ers luck the talent would click in Halton and I would never hear the end of it from all these hole fans I’m surrounded by.
