Recruiting (Jeff Mullen)

Offensive coordinator Jeff Mullen was at my sons high school( Western Guilford). Pretty impressive that he is already out on the recruiting trail.

If your son could do some detective work and try to figure out a few names (or if you follow their team and have some idea) of players Coach Mullen was there scouting, that would be awesome!

I’m glad we are recruiting hard in the Piedmont of North Carolina. Plenty of decent prospects in territory the staff is familiar with. I hope our pitch gets some attention.

He didn’t go into details but I think its more of building relationships around the state of North Carolina.

Thanks for the info.

Karsten Miller - North Davidson

This would be an amazing pick up. We already have the center from North Davidson. Karsten is getting looked at by Auburn, NC State, Duke, Wake, and a couple more D1 schools. I think it is impossible to get him. Especially with the looks from established programs.

So exciting!

With dirt turned for a new stadium, coach Brad Lambert said he plans to sign his first class of high school seniors in February 2012.

Lengthy article…

Had a nice conversation with a former coworker whose son plays football at a local HS (3A) and will graduate in '13. He played last year as a soph on the JV and varsity teams. I would not rate him as a potential superstar, but he is a hard worker with a good team-focused attitude. His mom told me that when he heard that Charlotte was starting football the year he graduates he said ā€œI think it would be cool to be on the first team to play thereā€.
Man, this made my day to hear something like this. ;D I hope other kids will think it’s cool too. I believe they will, and I agree that Lambert’s recruiting approach from that angle is right on. I’ll keep you posted. GO NINERS!!

Got a very reliable report that a local HS football player was seen at school today wearing the official Football Stadium Groundbreaking commemorative tee shirt. The recruits should start banging on Lambert’s door very soon! 8) :)) ;D
