Please note the game time change to 1:00 PM from the original scheduled start of 6:00 PM. And remember, if you can’t use your ticket, give it to a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker, etc.
This has all the makings of a great matchup as long as the Niners show up with their A-game. More and more UMass is looking like they might be the team to beat in the A-10. Antwon and Courtney will earn their PT this Sunday.
That makes me feel a lot less annoyed at the constant time changes. Good to know.
I am annoyed and pissed about this! I had 3 people coming from out of town to come to this game and they can’t come now. We have got to get a different network carrying our games or at least get the freaking times right at the beginning of the season.
Is the AD going to send out emails to let everyone know this. Something tells me there will be a lot of people coming to Halton around 5:30 Sun.
I’m personally not annoyed because I live on campus anyway, so it’s not really a big deal. However, anyone who has to come far to go to these games has plenty of right to be angry, especially since not everyone who goes to the games uses NNN and is given up to the minute Niner updates. Anyone who shows up at 5:30 is going to mighty upset.
i went to the Dayton game with like 10 friends of mine, I was the only one aware that the game was at 7, not 730, and thats only b/c i checked online right before leaving work b/c i remembered that SOME of the games had time changes.
This was only a preview of all of the people still coming in just after tipoff.
Well, there you go. That seems fair enough. For what it’s worth, I prefer a later time because that means I can stay at my actual home in Charlotte longer, but it doesn’t really matter too much.
Weather its a day game or night game, I could care less. It pisses me off that I find out about the time change a few days before tip-off. My high school basketball coach was coming in for the game from out of town. Is it too much to ask to have the right game time on the schedule that comes out before the year.
I have the magnet schedule that was given out at the beginning of the year. That was a big waste of money for the AD because half the damn times are wrong. I might as well throw it in the trash. Obviously, this is not the AD’s fought, it is the network’s fought in my opinion, but its still an inconvenience!
I have received both e-mail and snail-mail from Charlotte 49er Athletics noting the time change. I prefer the earlier time to be honest.
Same here, I prefer the earlier time but it sure messed me up with church and responsibilities that I have begged off on 2 weekends already this month.
I know it’s TV, but 2:00 would’ve been a huge help for us out-of-towners.
I checked on this. We had no choice on game time under the current arrangement with CSTV. It was set by CSTV. Our Ath dept pushed for 2:00pm – but that wouldn’t work for CSTV.
As far as time changes go for TV reasons, game times are often changed. I know ACC football moves them around all the time.
When this was decided a couple of weeks ago, several emails were sent from the Athletic Dept and 49er club and then again this week. I just didn’t realize it was for TV. Not sure if the email explained the reason behind it although it did say that the games were on TV.

Football game times in every conference change. Generally the times aren’t set on schedues b/c the times are not given until 10 days before the game, Thank you ESPN.

Thanks, HP.
I either didn’t know or forgot. I’ll be there regardless but I’m glad we have a forum like this to help keep everyone up to date.
I hope I’m wrong run, but they may be telling the game time change to the wrong group of people…
I’m sure the Observer will make it very clear. Observation from Jim a day after the game: It seems that the crowd didn’t get word on the time change. Will be nice to see that in big letters in the “Around basketball” feature on Saturday and in the HUGE gameday piece.
