Check out my latest piece, published in today’s Star News. It’s a great story of redemption and resilience. And I made sure to pronounce CHARLOTTE as the A-10 Champs!
Burglary and felony grand larceny!? Are we supposed to feel sorry for this guy?? Good thing I’m not their head coach because I would have kicked his criminal ass off the team permanently. I’m sorry but I hate theft, having had all kinds of stuff stolen from me in the past. I have zero sympathy for this guy. And I hate when people say the old line “but everyone makes mistakes!” Yeah we all make mistakes but we don’t all rob people or commit felonies! Backing into a car in the parking lot, mispelling a name, forgetting an important appointment, etc etc, those are mistakes. What this guy did was a concision thought out decision.
Having said that, it was a very good piece, very well written. You’ve got some talent Rob!
Nice work!!
I wish we had this little bit of info back when the Spiders were at the Hayes this past spring.

Very good work Swole, your pretty good at writing!
Thanks guys!
Scotty, I’m with you. When I was asked to write this, I didn’t know how to attack it. My goal was to make a point that this cannot be tolerated but regardless of the situation, you can resurrect your life and be a better citizen. Hopefully this kid continues to be better in all aspects of life. Side note…we definitely need to go fishing soon.

Yeah man I mean I can definitely give the kid respect for learning from his mistake and turning his life around. That is commendable. However, I just struggle to see how doing something like this doesn’t get you permanently kicked off a team. And like I said man, VERY well done. You may have a future in the writing biz!
Agree 100% about the fishing… How long are you in Wilmington for? Do you live and work out there now or are you just visiting fam?
What did he steal?
The three players stole two Xboxes, video game controllers, digital camera, Bose speakers, external hard drive and cash.

If theft got kids kicked off teams permanently we and many other schools would have a hard time fielding teams.
