Richmond begins Robins renovations

Adding just about everything but extra seats, with seating being reduced to about 7,000 from the current 9,000+ (not a bad thing for a school with an enrollment of 3,000). Nice video scoreboards in each corner too! Wonder when we can expect something similar for good ol’ Halton?

Would taking the top few rows on the alumni side where hospitality opens up to and making a lux box atmosphere with big windows etc be an upgrade we’d want? What upgrades are we needing at this point?

The baseline upper deck score boards could be updated to large LCD video boards.

Also, would be cool if there was a way to wrap the track wall with screens. Obviously couldn’t on the non-perm seating. But something would be cool.

Eventually the school will build a stand alone Student Activity Center structure with basketball courts, new pool etc etc (one day I hope). If/when that happens I can see Halton getting a nice modernization job. The food court could be improved, a team store could be added, luxury boxes could be added through the hospitality rooms, video boards could be installed on corner walls, the track can be removed.

I like Halton just fine, but eventually that original design from the early 1990’s will become outdated. I think we have another 10 years before anything gets upgraded. Think about how fast the last 10 years went.

The view will probably be better from there than from the hospitality area. I’ve always found the white walls between the movable sections of seating odd looking.
