UNCC alum and lifelong Niner fan passed away on June 26th. He was a longtime executive assistant to Charlotte mayors (Eddie Knox thru Anthony Foxx) and city managers until his retirement in 2012.

Boyd was full of life, so this is very unexpected. Condolences to Bo and Doris. Niner Nation has lost a stalwart fan, and he will be missed.
I did not know Boyd, but certainly recognize his face. Saw him at many basketball games. A true 49er. So sorry to hear of his passing.
Boyd was a friend of many including me. There was no 49er fan more enthusiastic about Charlotte sports than Boyd. He will sorely be missed by his family, friends and especially the 49ers. Games will certainly be different without his smiling face and loud cheers. Our condolences go out to Bo and Doris. R.I.P Boyd.
