Robert Tyler - 2014 TE/DE verbal commit to Charlotte

[quote=“2k, post:20, topic:27913”][quote=“USC_21, post:19, topic:27913”]I went to school with him last year. Played with him his sophomore and junior year. Talk to him frequently about where he is going and tbh this was a surprise. Not only did yall pull him away from APP St. but also Georgia Tech, UNC, and North Carolina St.

Here is his rivals page. They have him listed as a 2 star.

Well I talked with him about an hour ago and it sounds like yall will be using him on Offense. TE obviously and he will fit great with the type of Offense yall will be running. He said that he probably redshirt his first season.

No problem yall. If anything comes up or happens concerning him I will let yall know! Just curious but is this the highest rated/best recruit yall have pulled in so far?

Nice addition to the recruiting class!

Had several 3 star transfers come in, 2 have since left the program.

Tevin Lawshe and Casey Perry were both very highly rated as I remember.

First off - welcome to Niner Nation Robert!

(that is a big dude - he’ll do well here)

To follow up the question…

Tevin Lawshe was/is a 3 Star on all services.

And Martay Mattox (transfer) was a highly rated recruit (upper end of 3 star) before he went to USC, IIRC…

We’re going to need to continue to up our recruiting level. 3 stars need to become much more frequent if we are going to compete in CUSA.
