Robert Tyler - 2014 TE/DE verbal commit to Charlotte

…in the fold

Did we ever find out who commit #4 was?

clt says Brett Favre.

Who are these mystery commits?

Yes.

He is the player who committed after Number 3. Try to keep up.

Anyone subscribe to a recruiting website? If so, do you recommend it?

I doubt that this is the correct thread to post this in, but it looks as though ESPN has the football team page up finally! FYI

There is also 247 sports.

It was only the second college Tyler made an official visit to (Chafrlotte), but he was so pleased that his mind was made up.

That’s good to hear.

“I get to come in fresh and be a building block,” said Tyler, who will play tight end for the 49ers, selecting them over other colleges making offers including Appalachian State, South Carolina State, Wofford and Western Carolina. “I get to do something special and start a foundation.”

So got him over a Sunbelt school, and 3 FCS. Guy has good size, that’s for sure. Seems to be pretty good on D, too. Wonder where they’ll use him.

Seems to be the exact type of player we want. Versatile, physical, and a leadership mentality. Love that we are getting guys early.

Nah, no way anybody would ever pick us over App State ::slight_smile: .

Who was number 4?

Father was drafted in the 8th rd by Seahawks, played 1 year in NFL.

Cue the sour grapes and “we didn’t want him anyway” comments from the App board…

haha. that’s exactly what they’ll say.

RJ Tyler highlights

I went to school with him last year. Played with him his sophomore and junior year. Talk to him frequently about where he is going and tbh this was a surprise. Not only did yall pull him away from APP St. but also Georgia Tech, UNC, and North Carolina St.

Here is his rivals page. They have him listed as a 2 star.
