A lot of talk? i think Iām the only one that has said that. And Anborn just there.
But, chains arenāt likely to be a good place for us to go. It would need to be a bar that would be welcoming. Any bar would take our money, not any bar would go out of their way for us.
I know theres a Flying Saucer in Raleigh, if they are at all as accomodating as the one on 29 that may be a good place to go. Also, maybe somewhere like Champs at South Point if we can get them to show the games?
Oh ok, Iāve never tried to watch a Niner game around here, I was still unemployed and going back for games at the end of last season. Fact is, anywhere in this area weāll need to have an idea of how many people are coming and make sure the place we go carrys the Niners game ahead of time. As far as Brierās Creek goes, maybe Carolina Ale House? I donāt venture that way oftenā¦

Yes a lot of talk. And no you arent the only one who has said it. Iāve been hearing it on the boards for years. Hell Iāve probably said it myself at one point.
My point is, outside of a Niner-run place like pics that will play the fight song and put the game on every TV, all other bars are neither āniner-freindlyā nor niner-unfreindly. Show up with a bunch of fans and they will put the game on enough TVs for your crowd.

yeah, that works in theory. Iāve been to bars here a few times with some of my friends. We had a hard time getting games on TV. If there is an ACC game on, even if no one is watching it, it is tough to get a TV.
Champps, I went with 6 people last year to watch a game on masn. Missed almost the entire first half because they kept telling me they would put it on soon.
Went to a place called baileyās in Chapel hill. Called ahead, went with my girlfriend. They promised to have the game on for us. Missed almost the entire game. That was an A-10 tourney game 2 years ago.
I agree, most bars will be accomodating, but I wouldnāt say that they are all that way. I want to go to a bar where if Iām with 6 paying customers, we can get the game on that we want.
Iāve not found a Niner-friendly bar around here yet, but I havenāt looked too much either. I think the idea of calling ahead (reserving tables if possible) and showing up in numbers is the best way to get it done. The Ale House at Brier Creek is pretty large, itās probably as good of a place as any to try to start it. Or the Wild Wing place right next door.
Blincoās on Glenwood Avenue (between Brier Creek and Crab Tree Mall) has been good about putting on games in the past. I have gone with my wife, just the two of us and they have put on the game for usā¦with a bigger group, 12+ or so they actually have 2 private rooms, I can check into what is required to reserve a room.
Another possible option is a new bar, that is going to be at 540 and leesville road, about 2 miles from brier creek, it will be the Leesville Draft House, part of the local draft house chainā¦I could see if they would be willing to be the local home of the niners if there were enough interest.,[quote=CMack124;348260]
There is an Alumni Association event at the NC Museum of Art November 6, it would probably be a good place to get the names of RTP area Niners:

Iāll be at my parentās place in Durham for Thanksgiving. I wouldnāt mind meeting up with some Niners to watch one of the Anaheim Tourney games if you guys find a good spot.
This is a good list, are there others that could be added or invited to the Museum of Art reception on 11/6?
The people I know that live in this area:

I went and had a great time, over 90 attended with a mix of alums and prospective students. I met NinerNirvana there, great to put a face with a Nick.
As a follow-up to a place to meet for games, i have looked into several in the area and my recomendation is Blincoās (www.blincos.com) on Glenwood Avenue. Itās about 3 miles from the Briercreek area. The manager was very excited about the opportunity to host Niner events. They have 2 private rooms that can be reserved as well. Whatās really nice is that the small one only holds around 10 people, so a small group can still have a nice venue to watch a game. The larger room is good for just over 20.
I think the Alumni Association is working on an official event (a basketball viewing party), more details to come.
If there is interest in watching the App State game I will be glad to contact the manager at Blincoās to see if the small room is available. My wife and I will be there so we only need 6-8 more people.
