Sad News

Especially for any Braves Fan, Skip Caray has passed away at the age of 68, just saw it on Sportscenter :(.

Skip was truly one of the great broadcasters of his time, and when you heard his voice you immediately associated it with Braves baseball.

Condolences to the entire Caray family.

agreed rest in peace skipper

RIP Skip. Very sad day.

Have always strongly disliked the Braves.

HOWEVER, when I was growing up, the Braves were all we could watch in the summer.

We tuned in just to listen to Skip Caray and his rather offbeat sense of humor.

Sure it was fun for Braves fans during the Bobby Cox era. But you missed a real treat when Joe Torre, Ted Turner, et al were managing the team.

Skip deserves a lot of credit for making games with Rick Mahler on the mound sound interesting.

RIP Skip.

Classic Skip for those who missed the lean years…
“You have our permission to turn off the TV and go to bed now … as long as you promise to patronize our sponsors.”
and for all the crappy years, Skip deserved this moment .
“Here comes Bream! Here’s the throw to the plate! He iiiiiiiisssssssss … safe! Braves win! Braves win! Braves win! Braves win! … Braves win!”
i actually got skip’s autograph when i was a kid.

rest in peace man.
