Fordham wins! Fordham wins! Saint Louis led the Tarholes at the half and pretty much hung with Roy & Co. until 5 minutes to go. Scott Fowler’s SLU-UNC@CH game story in this morning’s Big O was really condescending toward the Billikens, IMHO.

This game wasn’t this close. Davidson punked them, going up 40-24 at half. Mizzou missed 12 of their first 13 shots from the floor. Their PG nailed a buncha 3’s in garbage time to make the score respectable.

IMLTHO, Davidson’s putting together a helluva good NCAA bid resume. If they clip UNC or Syracuse, and win 14 or more in their leage and don’t get an at-large bid, I’m going to protest. Seriously, is the SoCo really that much worse than the WCC past Gonzaga? I doubt it. If they bring wins against UMass, St Joes, MIzzou, and either Cuse or the Tarholes, plus a 15-1 SoCo record to the selection committee, you gotta let them in.

… Or just unrealistic. Why the spin? A lot is being made of the frosh in powder blue, but did it ever occur to Fowler that they were being abused by the 2 frosh guards for SLU? Funny how that never gets mentioned.

SLU could use another ball handler/passer. they were a little sloppy there. Otherwise, they looked pretty much even with the annointed demigods of college basketball.

Those freshman can’t lose. If they play well they are the fabulous freshman, if they lose, they’re just freshman and it’s to be expected.

How about Portland pulling out some wins lately! GO RPI!

Condescending because he said it would have been an upset had Saint Louis won? I thought he gave them a bunch of credit for how they played.

Did UL-Lafayette beat Texas Tech?

I agree, but the basement of the SOCon is what normally keeps the conference from being better rated. Davidson, COC, App, and Chattanooga over the last 8 years could easily play with Gonzaga, Santa Clara, Pepperdine and St. Mary’s. The basement of the WCC seems to always lift them up several positions in the conference ratings. Portland is at the bottom of the WCC in the current Sagarine Ratings.

I caught the last 7 minutes of the Davidson game on FullCourt last night. It’s much different watching a game from Belk Arena on TV. As you said, Missouri made just enough running jumpers and three pointers to keep it respectable. I’m still glad that we were able to somehow stay out of a foul-shooting contest with the Wildcats at the end of our game against them. Prior to last night, they were leading the nation in team free throw percentage. They shot 75% last night in an “off” night.

The A-10 has moved up to 8th in the current Sagarine Conference Ratings. We were 11th last week. The Niners are still low at 168 in the individual ratings. The good news is that we will have plenty of opportunities against well-rated teams in conference to improve this rating.

Because he said it would have been a MAJOR upset. Geez!

BTW, nice play by the frosh for SLU - Tommie Liddell and Kevin Lisch - who both scored 13 points against UNC-CH.
