This Scout.com list is by no means completely accurate (such as not listing Jerome Hunter as committed to St. Joe’s), but does give a rough idea of who is available in the Old North State.
the only name that pops out at me that is still availble, is a quality prospect that i think we could get is calvin newell. i think were gonna have to go out of state to recruit this season.
here’s a link to the Virginia bball prospects for 2010. Odom has ties to this area in addition to NC.
It would be nice if Luke Cothron would give us a second look.
I didn’t know he gave us a first look
Couple underrated guys from Charlotte left out there…
Reggie Price (6-3 SG/PG)- Led Lake Norman to 4A state championship and was 2nd team all-state. Played at Garinger 9th and 10th. Has interest from ucla, ball state, odu, mississippi state, Tenn, and us as of a month or so ago.

Corey Railey-Ross (6-3 SG)- Avg. 22.4 at Harding this year after transferring from Gaston Day. His brother Brandis just finished up at South Carolina.
As a teacher, I work in the same class room as Corey Raley-Ross’s head basketball coach, Walter Aiken…I’ll Put in a good word…
Watched raley-Ross play not very impressive went up for a dunk got stuffed and was shut down by a 5’11" defender
He attended one of our games during the 2008/09 season. He decommitted from NC State recently.
i dont think either of those guys are a10 level players.
Just reading about Newell. Still available, though apparently we’re not recruiting per Scout, which lists offers from Baylor, Marshall, Niagara, Providence, and West Virginia.

Plus NBE Basketball reports he’s still “wide open in his recruitment”:

I saw Price play in person and there is absolutely nothing impressive about him. LKN big man led them to the state title. He cannot shoot the ball from deep at all. I’ll say this and I saw both of them, if JT Terrell is an A then Price is a D player at best. Tashawn Mabry is loads better.
Just reading that Calvin Newell has signed with Oklahoma.

David Wishon, First Assembly Concord?? I know he’s a project at 7’-0", but he’s got what you can’t teach. He’s got some serious SIZE too. Maybe a year of Div 1 conditioning and practice with Braswell will help his footwork.
Read in the Charlotte Observer that he is going to Fork Union Military for a prep year. My kid goes to Metrolina Christian in Union County and I saw him play against their 6-9 guy that is going to Gardner Webb. Wishon did pretty much anything he wanted to-spin moves, jump hooks, drop step dunk. I was surprised how mobile he was at 7-2 270.
