The loss at ECU kept our streak alive. Every loss this year has been a meltdown in the second half. We have led after the first half in each of the four games we lost. The average lead was about nine points.
If we could call the game after the first half, our record would be 16-1. Our record in the second half would be 11-7. Somehow, we need to learn to play at the same level for both halves if we are to keep winning at the pace we are now. And if we are to play many games in March, we will have to learn to play even better in the second half than the first…
Not correct gamer. The 49ers are 12-4 in games leading at halftime, 1-0 when trailing and 1-0 when tied at the half.
The stat that bothers me… 13-3 when leading with 5:00 to play in regualation.
Others…
The 49ers shoot 40% or better: 10-2
The 49ers shoot 50% or better: 6-0
The 49ers shoot under 40%: 4-2
The oppoent shoots 40% or better: 11-3
The opponent shoots 50% or better: 1-0
The opponent shoots under 40%: 3-1
The 49ers outrebound the opponent: 9-1
The 49ers are outbebounded: 3-3
Rebounding is tied: 2-0
The 49ers force more turnovers: 10-4
The 49ers force fewer turnovers: 3-0
Turnovers are tied: 1-0
The 49ers shoot 40% or better from 3-point: 8-1
The 49ers shoot below 40% from 3-point: 5-3
The 49ers have double digit steals: 5-3
Cool stats but why does the 13-3 with 5 bother you??? We are 14-4 so thats not too far off.
The 49ers outrebound the opponent: 9-1 The 49ers are outbebounded: 3-3 Rebounding is tied: 2-0
That’s a very telling stat line
I want 16-0 with a lead.
oo. I was reading the stat wrong. I was thinking we had only blown one lead.
Key Stat, shoot below 40% from the 3 point line and our record is 5-3.
The 49er offense revolves around the 3 ball, it always has and always will under Lutz. If we are not shooting well from beyond the arc the team struggles. I don’t care if we are playing ECU, Louisville, or North Meck.

“If we could call the game after the first half, our record would be 16-1.”
I checked that again and counted the same 16-1 at half time. Thats what I was talking about when I said “If we could call the game at halftime”. We have outscored the opposition 11 out of 18 games in the second half (including OT). It seems like a huge dropoff in the way we play the second half.
Check the game notes put out by the Sports Information Ofiice and on the web site.

How many times have we been behind at half time, HP? Would you care to make a wager?
After rereading what you said exactly…
If we could call the game after the first half, our record would be 16-1.you are correct saying if the game ended after 20 minutes.
The stats I gave were record after leading at halftime, 12-4; record after being behind at halftime, 1-0 (Davidson) and record after being tied at halftime, 1-0 (Saint Louis).
