One of the ladies, Olivia Rankin, is Shamari Spear’s younger sister.
From Charlotte49ers.com:
Holmes, a 5-foot-7 combo guard, and Rankin, a 6-foot-2 forward, are teammates at Salisbury High School. Rankin is the younger sister of Charlotte 49ers senior men’s basketball player Shamari Spears
That’s all fine and dandy UNCCTF if you like girl’s basketball, but why can’t we find out if the men signed or not? I really hope the AD did not provide the information on the women and omit the men.

Do we know anything yet?[/quote] Methinks the coaches provide the info first. What possible motive would the AD have to withhold information on the men? Relax until there is something to be anxious about.

School can only report the information once per NCAA rule. Will only happen when all letters are signed. Women likely had all of them in and it could be released.
Jags is correct. As for the women’s signees, they all faxed their LOIs in early and it was released early. All four of them had already verbally committed to Charlotte before the school year ended last May. Imagine that!
so do we have the loi’s? i haven’t worried b/c i think all three are good people w/ integrity, but it’s always good to have the birds in hand, so to speak.
Still nothing on the website nor the goldmine. Wonder why it is taking so long to confirm if all three have signed. Are they waiting on someone else to possibly join the signing group before making an announcement? Or can they not announce it if people might sign in the spring?
Sounds like it isn’t a big deal. Assuming all three signed, this is a strong group of recruits. I like the height (Williams 6’4", Nickerson 6’7", and Thorne 6’10"+ according to the blog posts) and athleticism of the guys coming in. I also like that we got them to sign early. Just need a pg and maybe another big man, and Major should be able to have a smooth transition and rebuild when the players here now start graduating.

Thorne and Nickerson probably mailed theirs in, so they are waiting til they have the LOI’s in hand before announcing. No one else is signing with us this period.

Additional proof that you don’t panic unless Moss says to panic.
Girl’s B-Ball signed Shamari’s sister, Olivia Rankin a F from Salisbury.
Also G Desiree Drayton of Dudley, G Hillary Sigmon of Hickory, & G Ayanna Holmes of Salisbury.
