Sinderius Thornwell - The 2013 standout didn’t get too many minutes on the 17-and under level for the United Celtics, but when he was in the game he was effective. Thornwell plays with great energy at all times, and really rebounds for a small forward. Also he can score off the dribble and is a good athlete. Physically he wasn’t overmatched against older players, and playing in a big game he more than held his own.
Wants to play at SG in college. Seems to be pretty tight with Kennedy Meeks, who we aren’t recruiting. They aren’t sure if they will play together in college yet.
Thornwell recently visited Clemson, per scout.com. Getting a ton of high major attention, including Duke and UNC-CH.
“It’s nice. It’s real [spirited]. They show support, the fans,” Thornwell said.
Along with Clemson, he has offers from South Carolina, Charlotte, Georgia Southern and Tennessee State.

The class of 2013 is going to be known for its depth at the wing position, and one player making his way up the rankings is Sindarius Thornwell.
Thornwell, a 6-foot-4 sophomore from Lancaster (S.C.), makes an immediate impact because of his length and athleticism. He handles the ball and distributes well for someone his size, and is also adept at finishing.
“I’m quick and I can handle the ball,” Thornwell said. “I’m always attacking and I play defense.”
Plenty of colleges have taken notice of the versatile 2013 prospect.
Thornwell currently holds offers from South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee State, Georgia Southern and Charlotte. He also has interest from Louisville, UCF and the entire ACC besides North Carolina and Duke.
Thornwell, who has visited Clemson and South Carolina, knows exactly what he needs in a school.
“I’m looking for playing style, good academics and playing time,” he said. “That’s it.”

Interest from entire ACC except UNC-Ch and Duke, lol.
I swear those guys get anyone they want along with Kentucky. Any fan of Duke and UNC-Ch should be bitch-slapped for ever complaining about anything to do with the teams. Hell they ought to be good, they get 3 top 20 guys every year.
From what I gather, Thornwell seems to be quite similar to E. Vic. in stature and style. If E. Vic comes here and dominates before Thornwell makes a decision, it could be a huge advantage for Major’s staff to say “hey, look, here is a player with a similar game to yours that has blossomed at Charlotte. Remember that Evan Turner guy? Yeah, I coached him too.”
per Rivals, nothing to see here now for us it looks like…
“My main three schools right now are South Carolina, Clemson and North Carolina State,” Thornwell said Tuesday morning at his high school. “I’ll be deciding before my senior year.”
So, crazy story. We are still apparently after this guy pretty hard.
I wore my Charlotte polo to work today and we have some guys here moving boxes around for us. The guy stopped me and asked me if I went to Charlotte and told him yes. He said is brother was Sindarius Thornwell and he was thinking about coming to Charlotte.
I thought the name sounded familiar but didn’t ring any big bells until I looked on here. He said his brother is at Oak Hill for his senior year, but already wants to come home. Virginia is too far away, so hopefully a lot of the other schools are too.
This should be a guy we are pushing for really hard. Apparently the whole family likes Major and Co. and our facilities.
This is not like a Burger King story. I’ve never posted recruiting info before. This is legit.
