As evident in one of the articles posted on here, this is a good time for all the coaches to step back and put things in perspective…seeing as how all the things that make their careers and lives so stressful now seem so trivial after something like this…so sad.
Skip Prosser won his final game. What a memory now for those who played on that squad.

One final tribute to Skip Prosser before his funeral tomorrow. Tonight at 9:00, Wake Forest University has invited everyone to another rolling of the quad. And they are allowing the campers who are attending basketball camp to be the first TP throwers.
I’ve just returned from Winston-Salem and the Wake Forest campus. It was a roll of the ages, several folks commented that it was better than the one Thursday night. Perhaps 2000 in attendance, many wearing Tie Die Nation shirts, lots of folks older than Over40 and myself, many still in their button downs and ties and kids… all tossing toilet paper to the heavens. Folks brought the big 12-16 roll packs of tissue and just sat them around the quad for anytone to throw. The players hung out together, other than CP3, but they all were tossing as well. The bells rang from Wait Chapel for 20 minutes, it was moving to be a part of the quiet unity.
I really felt I needed to be there, as my cardiologist visit today was excellent. Instead of 3x yearly checkups, it’s now a yearly visit! Many thanks to Dr. Erdin.

Did Bobby Lutz ever say anything publicly Prosser’s passing?
I just realized tonight, of all of the comments, I heard from various coaches and various information sources, I never heard anything from Coach Lutz.
I realize that Wake and Charlotte are in different conferences, but I would be surprised if they didn’t have some kind of personal relationship.

From reading Ken Tysiac’s piece in the Big O, you would never know Prosser coached in the A-10 at Xavier. Among those representing the A-10 at his funeral were current Xavier coach Sean Miller, Phil Martelli of St. Joe’s, Fran Dunphy of Temple, and league commissioner Linda Bruno, as well as former UC coach Bob Huggins. Former Xavier players in attendance included David West of the New Orleans Hornets. The president of Xavier, Michael Graham, S.J., was one of the half-dozen ministers who assisted at the service.

Xavier University held a Memorial Mass today in the Cintas Center, after which Prosser was buried in Cincinnati’s Spring Grove Cemetery.
