clt says we need TRAVEL sports! join Elite one of one club team! buy our team gear! pay to attend tourneys! this is not a cult!
Leader of the Tour de France did a somersault yesterday and still finished the rest of the 30 km stage, including a mountain climb.
He was too injured to start today - multiple fractured ribs.
But don’t step on a soccer player’s toe! He’ll writhe in pain for a decade. Don’t get me wrong, I love soccer, but it’s a lot of show. I’m sure the toe hurts a little when it gets stepped on but the diving does get tiresome.

My son still has unhealed scars on his ankle from where he got cleated in a tournament… in early December.
His ankles have been two different sizes ever since.
Yes, there is a lot of flopping. But some of them do actually hurt quite badly and the injuries can require surgery.
Yeah, there is definitely a cult like aspect to travel sports. That’s how they get away with charging so much.
The clubs take all of the blame when the tournament organizers and the stay to play hotels who double their rates for the privilege of forced accomodations should catch hell too. Also the club administration usually takes a pretty healthy cut - money that doesn’t go to the coaches who actually spend time with your kids.

This is good news for the sport. More eyes, hopefully means sustained interest levels. Will be interesting to see if there is an uptick in MLS, Premier League and other soccer viewership domestically.
Not very motivating for the men’s team to have to give half of what they make to the women’s team. I wonder how many other countries do that?

Not trying to re-open that can of worms, but the objective answer is: none. We are the only country that does it.
He was playing terrible before that injury.
ridiculous. you earn what you earned. We aren’t a socialist nation…yet
Wasn’t this collectively bargained between the players and US Soccer?

This was inexcusable. Cost Norway a spot in the semifinal. Haaland definitely would have scored.

Ridiculous. Utter selfishness.

Argentina is a great team, but it feels like I am watching a Tar Hole basketball game with all the calls they get.
