Sorensen - Minter Prepares Campbell for Charlotte 49ers

This is a good piece by Sorensen. You can sense that Minter will want this very, very badly. Campbell is going to come in ready to play spoiler. I hope our boys can channel the crowd energy into scores and stops, because the Camels are going to bring it.

I thought it was a really well written pieceā€¦ Built up the Camels program and ours, IMO.

Wonder if Big Cat is going to feel at all conflicted when watching the game. Iā€™m sure he will want Mike to do well, but his legacy is now our legacy so his tie better be GREEN!

Mikeā€™s just now starting out. Losing to the Niners will in no way shape his career! Wear that green, Big Cat!

Nice piece, but the Camels would need Vince Lombardi and still wouldnā€™t be able to beat us with their roster.

They won one game last year, lost to Davidson, and gave up 70 points to Old Dominion and Moreheat St.

I think we will winā€¦but I have no idea what to expect out of our players or theirs.

Exactly. I do hope we beat them 49-0, but I donā€™t expect it. We could come out pretty shaky with nerves, etc. Letā€™s just send them home with an L and Iā€™ll be thrilled.

Complete and utter domination. Minter will re-consider entering the coaching business, and Campbell will consider dropping football again.

Iā€™ll be surprised if We donā€™t win this gameā€¦I hate to say thisā€¦but Minter is a big talker and I really question his coaching acumen at this pointā€¦we shall see soon enough

Donā€™t take him so lightly. He lead my stomping grounds to 2 state championships (granted it was AA). I think heā€™ll do good things for that program.

That was actually the ā€œlower divisionā€ private schools class, not even the same division as the Charlotte Christian, Providence Day, etc. Much, much, much weaker than the ā€œregularā€ 2A class.

Plus you can recruit to private schools at the HS level. What 14 year old wouldnā€™t like to play for a former NFL player from their home area team? Not sure that translates to 18 year olds and non-scholarship football recruiting at the FCS level.

We better not turn the ball over.

Yep. Our speed will prevail. See you Saturday, Tyro. 8)

Hooner, didnā€™t know you went to First Assembly Christian. I have several friends that graduated from there.

I got your PM. Iā€™ll stop by your section and say hello. Iā€™ll have a friend that graduated in '76 with me. Help me sell him on Niner Athletics.
