I’m going on a cruise that leaves out of Port Canaveral the Sunday after our game at USF. I am strongly considering swinging down to Tampa for the game on Saturday night. Is anyone else going? Has anyone been before? Just curious of what to expect.
I was seriously going to start one of these threads next week…ha!
Anyway, I am planning on going, barring have to work supreme OT that weekend (doubtful). There’s plenty to do in Tampa - Hard Rock Casino (poker and slots), a very nice…ermm…adult club nearby, the whole Ybor City district, etc.
The school itself is sort of in its’ own area (similar to Charlotte), but Busch Gardens is close and so is a number of other things.
Are you planning on staying the night prior (after the game)? Or just getting to your cruise the day of? You can PM me/email me if you like.

Expect to see maybe 100 USF fans show up at the Sun Dome on a beautiful sunny day and the NINERS winning by 20+.
I will be at the SunDome for our game. I have been by the campus several times but never been to a game there.
I grew up there and went to many USF games. They can get loud sometimes but I’m thinking it will be a pretty weak crowd considering how they are doing this year. The Sun Dome is pretty old now and is in the middle of campus. Tampa is fun though. Swing over, get some Cuban food before the game (I can tell you a few great places) and enjoy the weather.
El bump-o.
Looks like tickets are $20+ for sitting in the lower level. The USF guys (on their snail-paced message board) say that it won’t be that empty, there are enough diehards to put some butts in the seats.
Dumb Q: do we get an allotment of tickets? Can I get some through our ticket office?
Dumb Q: do we get an allotment of tickets? Can I get some through our ticket office?I inquired but I guess unless you know someone then there's not much help through them. I should have several folks with me but we just plan on buying some seats when we get there.

When I called to get tickets to a UR/CLT game a couple of years ago I called UR's ticket office. Just tell them you want to sit behind CLT's bench and see if it works. It did for me a couple of years ago. Good luck!
Cool.
I’ll shoot you a PM with my phone # Apex and if you feel like it, gimme a ring when you get to the game. That way I don’t have to sit by my lonesome and sound like a raging Charlotte fan with bad social skills.
I sent an email to ask the same question to our ticket office but haven’t gotten a response yet. This was a week ago.
I am kinda worried that it will sell out due to Senior Day. Do you guys think I should go ahead and get tickets or wait til I get down there?
The players took their allotment so we cant get any through the ticket office. May wanna just go ahead and order some. I did.

I can’t imagine it will sell out, Senior Day or not.
They had 6000+ for Cincy and the Sun Dome seats close to 12,000, apparently.
…just checked ticketmaster.com (you can order tickets through there), best seats are about 24 rows up (in the “2nd” section of 3) and are $15. Think I may buy this one and find my way closer to our bench as the game goes on…

I’m headed down for the game. It is my understanding that our allotment of tickets for this game was used up. Players, as they should, get the first shot at those tickets and we have two guys from Florida, so I imagine that they both have a number of friends/family coming. However, I did talk to the ticket office at USF and I ordered tickets in E2, which is in the same area as where our other people will be.

We should be able to get a good 40!!!........9ers!!! chant going.
Does anyone know the cheapest place to get a ticket to fly down for this game? I tried Southwest out of Raleigh, but it’s $250. Does anyone know anything that might be better?

You could try flying into Orlando instead of Tampa but at this point I think all the flights are going to be expensive, because you would be getting your ticket so late...
I’ve driven to Charlotte in 8 hours or less (I’m on the opposite coast) and it’s not that bad of a drive, if you really, really want to go to the game. Plenty to do in Tampa, too.
I can’t wait to see us take some revenge against Da Bulls. I hope we crush them.
Anyway, I’m gonna try to be in Tampa by noon, get in on a NL poker tournament pre-game. I’ll call the guys I PM’d tomorrow afternoon, see where we are all at/sitting/whatever.
Goooooo Niners!
