Speed Street 2007

It’s that time of year again. Whether you enjoy the racing or not, most like free stuff. And there is plenty of free stuff to be had along the streets of uptown Charlotte for these three days.

Speed Street is May 24-26

Here is the concert listing

And the link for any other information.

i would be interested in seeing:

Maurice Williams of Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs
Bill Pinkney of the Original Drifters
Puddle of Mudd

never really heard anything about any of the rest of the bands. not as strong of a line up as they secured last year.

Loverboy ??

Eek.

I’ve found Better Than Ezra to be better on CD than in concert. I’ve seen them at UNCC (they played in the Mine Shaft back in the mid-1990s), then when they performed at Speed Street several years ago.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen Cheap Trick that I have no idea what to expect. Anyway, I’ll be taking my youngest two to see Puddle of Mudd.

My daughter will probably also want to see the Wreckers (Michelle Branch’s current project with friend Jessica Harp) as well. Actually, my son will probably want to SEE Michelle and Jessica too, though not for their music!

It might help that they recently went through some breakage: http://www.thegauntlet.com/article/1225/8502/.html

New album out in July and are now on tour with Breaking Benjamin and Three Days Grace (though BB and TDG not part of Speed Street line-up).

Well, I was going to check out Puddle of Mud, Cheap Trick and Better Than Ezra, but I think maybe the Wreckers are at the top of the list… [insert some sexist, nonsense comment by SCK here]

This lineup is not as strong as in recent years. That’s my personal opinion anyway (and yes, we all know the old cliche about opinions).

Tony!Toni!Tone has done it again.
