Jones has made it official and will head to the NBA.
I am not surprised, but I was hoping he would return. That would have only mad St. Joes that much better.

damnit it how do people figure this shit out so quickly i mean i tear all our players up when i play them they can’t stop a white/black 6 footer who has a four foot vert and can light it up from half court no problem i mean i was thinking about but i just didn’t wanna say anything
Well, guess I can’t blame him. Already has his degree, so no motivation there to return. Also sounds like his father was really pushing him.
Still, Martelli has to find a replacement for Jones’ 10.1 ppg, 11.6 rpg , and 3 bpg.
Saint Joseph’s Ends Reinstatement Process for Dwayne Jones
that hurts there chances to compete at the top of the A10 next year doesn’t it? From what i understand he was one of their better players.
Dwayne Jones was the 2005 A-10 Defensive Player of the Year, plus the fact that he averaged a double-double and had 109 blocked shots. His loss, plus that of A-10 co-POY Pat Carroll (18.3 ppg), means that the Hawks have only one double figure scorer returning in 05-06 – Sr. 6-5 G/F Chet Stachitas (10.8 ppg) – with Sr. 6-0 G Dwayne Lee close behind (9.4 ppg). Stachitas did have a game of 27 points and another of 25 last season, so he can score. Lee had highs of 16 points and 11 assists in 04-05.
Looks like Stachitas and Lee will be expected to carry the team offensively, though Lee is also known for his defense (2005 A-10 All-Defense First Team). A lot really depends upon the contributions of the four returning sophomores and the four incoming freshman.
