There are tons of discussions about it on blogs. There are multiple potential spoilers, including the leaked concept art, spy photos and script rumors. I’ll try to stay away from those and focus on more observational/speculative blog posts, like this one:
I’m not sure where I read it, but some hardcore nerd translated that little bit on the X-Wings pilot’s jacket. It’s apparently written upside down (so the pilot can see it), and says “pull to inflate” - nice little detail touch, but also apropos considering where it looks like they were.
The teaser raises a lot of questions - I’ll let you guys decide if and how you wanna talk about them.
I have watched this like 20 times. I am doing my best to avoid the spoilers. Since the extended universe was declared non-cannon all the books I have read are questionable at best. Star Wars is so exciting for me. it literally help me get my college degree. I can’t wait.
Its gonna be hard to avoid spoilers, but I feelya. I think I may already know a lot about at least the beginning of the movie.
Ive also read that there will be at least 4 more movies with three more directors?
I read one discussion about Imperial Knights. The only non movie stuff I know is an old video game or two andI read those timothy zahn books once, maybe 15 years ago. I dont know anything about them.
Star Wars TFA: George Lucas Special Edition (because, you know he’s gonna get his hands on it and F### it up): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v93Jh6JNBng
This is really funny. Pretty much hit every awful thing Lucas did to the original trilogy in some way.
I bought a trilogy copy I thought was the originals a while back and didn’t realize it was the bastardized versions until I watched it. It was ok, but mostly unpleasant. I really hope all the ridicule convinces him to keep from messing with it too much.

2 more in 3rd Trilogy and at least 3 more standalone movies. Trank from Chronicle is on one stand alone, Rian Johnson of Looper fame as the next two in the trilogy, which are already in pre-production and Gareth Edwards from Godzilla has another stand-alone. Obi Wan, Han and Chewie, Yoda and Boba Fett have all been rumored. There has also been some talk that a stand alone could be about the Sith way way way back or perhaps on Rogue Squadron.

NWA you said you read a bunch of the books. Ever read the Han Solo trilogy by Brian Daley? I love those books and always thought they would make fantastic movies.
I can keep dreaming now.
But from what I’ve read about Hollywood almost every writer and director loves to come in and put their own spin on things. It’s fucked up a lot of potentially good movies.
Check out a book called The best SF movies never made. You would not believe all the rewrites and shenanigans that go on after people get a hold of a script.
So, I was watching the trailer with my kids yesterday, and youtube autojumped to the next video which was deleted scenes from one of the prequels…
OMG. :shudder: :o
If you thought what they put in the theater sucked, you have no idea just how bad it can get. It was below bad fan fiction level bad. I’m not kidding. Warning, you cannot unsee it - it’s shockingly awful.
Here’s hoping Kevin Smith was right and JJ Abrams is bringing back the magic.
Big Star Wars fan! This is exciting! I too bought a blu-ray box set because it was advertised as having the original scenes So now I have two box sets that both have remastered scenes, although both are slightly different. My blue-ray has the remastered scenes from the original but the regular scenes from the “new”, while my DVD has all the remastered. Only “original” scenes I have left are in the form of a VHS box set, which I have no way of seeing!
Anyway, TFA looks awesome. To echo a lot of the trailer reviews, it looks like they didn’t use as much CGI in this one and they kept true to the timeline and kept things truly gritty looking (like they had in the original 3), despite adding 30 years of technology/improvements.
I am not one for spoilers, and from what I have read the story won’t be easy to spoil though the overall story arch over the next three should be pretty obvious. There are some obvious spoilers (well, not really spoilers but obvious deductions) on who some of the characters are.
Speculation (kind of spoiler-ish, in white):Probably pretty obvious, but it looks like that (Daisy) is Hans and Leia’s daughter. And not just from the reviews, she even kind of looks like a younger Leia. And they are possibly on Tatooine, mainly because I thought JJ was going to pay homage to the original, so Daisy could be living/hiding out on Tatooine. Most likely the awakening is referring to some kind of plan B, with the Sith Lord we saw being “awoken” after what we thought was the destruction of the Empire. This gives reason for her to be hiding as well as explains the battle scenes and appearance of a fully functional dark side.

I read the first one, didn’t read the rest. I really liked the Timothy Zahn novels. JJ could have just taken those and made them movies and I would have been happy.
Those cards are official mock ups of the original 70’s Topps card that Abrams & Lucasfilm are doing to promote the movie. Which means that those character names are official too.
I had all of the green series cards as a kid. They are pulling hard on the nostalgis angle…
