May be, but they'll run all day!

Not too sure about Nance, I know he’s a bulldozer, but I like the offensive options with my lineup

I’d guess Nance would be our starting center, not that it will mean a lot. Jermaine Williams was our starting center a few years ago, how many minutes did he play? 20 at the most. Drayton is the guy who will benifit from this the most. Anytime any frontcourt starter goes to the bench, Drayton will be the first guy up to replace him. Hopefully he is as good as advertised, he will certainly be a better offensive threat than Iti, but where are the rebounds and extra fouls gonna come from? Pigford will get time at center…that’s the scariest part about all of this.

I think helps CJ a lot as well. I feel that he is a player that will fair better with more PT

Between Withers and Eddie we will be an excellent rebounding team on the offensive end and defensive end. These two guys can get after it on the glass.

Both have proven to also be very durable, we will need Drayton, Nance and Pigford to also prove that they can play minutes and help on the D end.

That’s a good point about Withers and Eddie, both are very good rebounders for their size. The problem comes in when we play teams with a true center. A lot of rebounding is from skill and posistioning, but sometimes you just can’t make up for having a guy a couple inches taller than anyone else on the court(and i know Iti’s only really 6’10" but his crazy wingspan makes him play like a 7 footer). I’m not saying we will be a terrible(or even bad) rebounding team, but in order to be a good rebounding team we will need Nance to be able to step in at center, play a good number of minutes and grab at least 5 or 6 a game for us. We don’t need any offense from Nance or Pigford, we just need one to step up and play defense and rebound for us.

I’m hoping Nance can step in right away and be a Clemmons-like player in terms of hustle on the glass(but with the hands to actually hold onto the ball). But also be a better defender and not look for his offense as often as Calvin did. Right now Nance is the best chance we’ve got at having a legitimate center next year, if he doesn’t play well we will be looking at playing guys out of posistion which is never good.

Yes, we usually do better when we have that place holder at center, Kenkay/JW/Iti.

But in crunch time Withers can play it on the D end, as in the Gold Medal game they put him on the 7 footer, draft choice of the Wizards, to slow him down. Withers plays much bigger than he is.

I didn’t see the games but apparently he was considered the center on that team, or they basically played 2 PFs most of the time.
