Rivals blurb

Stevie Taylor - Burke's running mate in the backcourt also had an impressive showing over the weekend. Taylor was at his best when he would go off the bounce to beat his defender and then use his slick passing and impressive court vision to make a play for a teammate. Taylor is not the strongest player by a long shot, but he did finish through contact a few times. He was streaky with his shot, but Taylor routinely was around double-figure assists, and was key in letting Burke play off the ball some in order to score.

Is anyone else concerned that we are going after what seems like a number of point guards for the 2011 class in relation to our recruitment of Lewis? From what we’ve heard, we definitely have a chance of landing him, and I understand we need to cover our tracks but I would hate for us to get 2 or 3 pg commitments and have Lewis back off us like he did when VT signed Rankin.

I would hate for us to lose out on talented 3 star pg’s waiting on someone that may never come. That has failed us too much in the past.

I had this discussion already with someone else. Derrio will be gone, Deuce will be a Senior and as of now, Voncina would be the only other guard on the roster. You have to get at least 1 other guard. Rankins may have turned him off due to him being so highly rated.

Also being recruited by George Mason!

Love watching Stevie Taylor play. Crafty dude...

I heard people on this board say Major wants BIG guards. ::slight_smile: Being from Ohio i’m sure this is Major’s recruit. Looks like Major doesnt care what size you are at the PG position as long as you can play.

ESPN blurb

Stevie Taylor (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) 2011, PG, 5-9, 150 pounds AAU Team: All Ohio Red Taylor is a flat-out scorer from the point position who never let his defender take a possession off. He has a passion for the game and plays with great energy and urgency every time he steps onto the floor. He knocks down 3s on the break and in half-court sets. Plus, he can get on a role and make the opposing coach take a timeout. Taylor can make plays off the on-ball screen and can locate an open teammate with his court vision. Don't let the size fool you; he will attack the rim and finish with great touch and body control. Right now, Taylor's list includes Ohio, Richmond, Toledo, Providence, UNC-Wilmington and Tulane.

no Charlotte?

commits to Ohio.
