According the Lutz the A10 is better than the SEC.

Not exactly, but I suppose it could be argued somewhat.

Southeastern - RPI 6, SOS 12; average RPI 0.5575, average SOS 0.5445
Atlantic 10 - RPI 8, SOS 8; average RPI 0.5330, average SOS 0.5305

So right now we have three teams likely to get into the NCAA tournament. What are the chances URI can get their RPI high enough to get in?

Maybe at the top, Xavier pretty much handled LSU on LSU's home floor. At the bottom, no way. But imagine if the A10 didn't always have anchors. If the conference ever got serious about perennial failures, they could be the premier non-BCS conference every year, and top 6 in some years. It's hard for us to talk crap this year of course, given our OOC stinker.

Yeah, but if they got serious, they would have to kick us out.

Good lord, your are so full of crap.

I'm guessing you're kidding but we've performed in the top half of A10 teams the years we've been in the league despite underachieving. Even in this, our worst year since maybe the early 80's, we're higher than 3 A-10 teams in RPI.

Not that it matters, since this is essentially a pipe dream until the bigger leagues rearrange.

Yes, I am joking. I recognize that we have finished fairly decently in league play, but we’ve never been an NCAA calibre team. Which is sad.

Based on expectations, we are easily one of the biggest disappointments in the A-10.

No argument there. We were expected to regularly contend for an at-large bid (similar to X) and be a real asset to the conference. Hasn’t worked out that way so far.
