Hopefully we have not given up on Tariq or Madison Jones. (MJ would be preferred but we need another PG)
Last I heard, a week or 2 after Luka left, we had not been in touch with Madison Jones.
If we are not talking to these two I think that is a serious mistake.
Honest, what makes Carey a better target than Ingram? Because 1 place has a 3 stars? Scout I think does the worst job looking at the entire talent pool. I think Rivals, the ESPN do a better job.

is carey visiting also?
As of this morning we’ve had no contact with Cary.

Carey is considering offers from Quinnipiac, Siena, Manhattan and New Hampshire.
“I’m committing on my birthday, April 15th,” he said.

Why are we not going after him? He is taller than ingram and his rated higher. Also among those schools Charlotte looks like freaking Kentucky! We could get him in a heart beat. I do not understand this at all.

maybe he knows that he cannot start here, maybe we are only looking at ingram and have no intention of offering him. maybe he doesnt feel like we really want him. there are any number of reasons. does he sound like a better player than ingram? yeah, he does but i trust majors recruiting. he might want to go somewhere where he can be a starter. also, we need a guy who is an outside shooter, which he is not.
No he would not start here. I guess for me I would rather be a back up to a bigger/better school, than start at one of those little hovels. But thats just me.
Those schools are also much closer to home for Carey, might have something to do it it as well. Also, we haven’t offered Nick Lewis or Ingram yet. We could very well wait til the coaching changes happen and snag a decommit from elsewhere.
Maybe he’s not the right fit for us?
Perhaps our coaches couldn’t care less about rankings and just look for the best player for the way we want to play?
nah. they just go by rival stars. the major deal is simply to get as many 3+ stars as possible.
This is the line of thinking that has a kid sitting at the end of the Chapel Hill bench that could possibly be getting 15+ minutes a game for us. Do you apply this same line of thinking to the kids who stiff us for BCS back up roles and being recruited over every year they are at the said BCS school?

I see where you are trying to go but “sitting at the end of a bench never playing” and “Backup” are not the same in my book. I am talking a second string guy. He may never start but will get the 15-17mins a game. Personally if a coach said you can play 15+ at Charlotte behind Henry (because lets face it that is what these guys are being approached with in essence) or I could never play at a BCS school. I would pick Charlotte because I wanted to play.
If the option was start at Hole in the wall U or play 15+ at charlotte I would still pick Charlotte b/c is a bigger/better school.
But if I was a recruit and got the I could be a solid starter at Charlotte (Not a superstar just solid starter so like 20-25 mins a game) or a 15+ min backup at Syracuse…I would need to think long and hard before turing that down.
I do not “Hate” recruits for taking option C. I wish they would all come to Charlotte but I get it. They only have four years to make a name for themselves and it is their life not mine. So while I do not like option C I do understand it.
But to your point I do not at all understand why some kids pick the “I want to sit at the end of the bench instead of Charlotte” option. I never have and I dont think I ever will.
off the board to Quinnipiac.
