Strengths:He's got an air of smooth operator to his game. Seems to prefer scoring off the drive and eagerly attempts to get himself in the lane. Finishes better and with more toughness than he should be able to given that his frame isn't strong. Not the biggest guy but he plays with great confidence.
Weaknesses:
The next step in his game is taking his talents as a scorer and meshing them with more of the mindset of getting others shot. He’s a scorer first and college programs will likely want him to be at least a secondary ball handler and transporter. Will have to work on shot to keep defenders off him. Would like to see him be vocal and assert himself as a leader.
Bottom Line:
Carey projects as a player numerous mid-major programs will evaluate and eventually offer.
Had this exact same thought. I dont think the sell will be too hard as luka was getting 15-17 mpg. Thats a good chunk of time for an incoming freshman to get.
I know we need a backup PG but I kind wish we would bring a three point specialist… just one of those guys that you know if he is open from the outside he’s shooting it and it’s going down, maybe Lesters shot is good enough but none of the guys on our team now can shoot sans maybe deuce.
Also agree…We need someone who can shoot well from the outside to take some of the pressure off the middle.Don’t want to add a body just for a body’s sake though. If we ave to save a schollie it wouldn’t be the worst thing.
Did everybody forget the “Shame wowden” incident already? I would much rather games the way we did last night (sans the free throw shooting nightmare) than trying to jack up more threes than the other team.
I would want a player(s) whos main contribution would be driving / poping out for a solid 8-10 foot jumper. If he can step back and make a three thats great but not what I would be focusing on for a new kid.
This… just because you can shoot doesn’t mean you have to not play D and not be fundamentally sound, I’m trying to think of an example and the only one that really comes to mind is a Wood from Raleigh down the road… I would also so maybe an Ian but I know how much this board loathed him… I think he would be good for this team with all the athletes we already have.

I remember way back a long time ago when we played Memphis. We were semi decent from the three point line but totally ineffective inside, where we shot less than 18% and had 13 of our shots stuffed. Fact is, we just can’t be a complete team if 21’ is out of our shooting range.
