I could drop somebody and pick up any of these players I have been interested in:

Julius Jones
Tatum Bell

Kevin Johnson
Keenan McCardell (not sure if he will sign or not, so there is risk)
Anquan Boldin (when will he return from injury?)

Any recommendations on who I should cut and if I should pick up any of these guys?

Where am I strong and weak?

What type of league and what are your position requirments?

Good question. Unless your league requires the use of 2 QB’s, I would say that you have too many QB’s. You can usually only start one, and the first 2 you have should be a plenty (talentwise). They are not as susceptible to injury as the other positions, so you need depth elsewhere. Just my 2 cents.

I assume this was an auction league. If this is a draft league you’re going to dominate, and I want to play with the idiots you’re playing with who let Duce or Green fall to the second round.

Ahman Green and Duce McAllister are both top five or so backs. Your receivers aren’t studs, but your top three are all solid #1 guys. Good QBs, good defense, top three kicker. Solid team overall.

Unless this is a three back league and someone has three top tier backs, I can’t see how you won’t roll into the playoffs.

I like Julius Jones a lot. Eddie George will be a complimenting RB at best in that offense, though he may get a few goal line carries. Jones could put up really nice numbers and you’d be better off, IMO, with him on your team as opposed to Wheatley. I’m just big on Wheatley these days, though he’s capable of shining every now and again.

As for those WR’s. Personally, if you’re content on your depth and feel confident you’ll make the playoffs, I would consider Boldin. He will be back and is a very solid WR to have come playoff time. I also like Kevin Johnson. I drafted him in the very late rounds of our draft and though Baltimore isn’t notorious for an explosive offense, he’s the primary receiver and will get a lot of catches. I’d steer away from McCardell. Just not worth the risk right now and he’s a head case.

Your team is very solid, top to bottom. If Joe Horn has a really good year, then you’ll be fine at WR.

Should I drop McGahee for Julius Jones?

Of the players you mentioned, I'ld take him, if for any other reason than if he is producing, someone hurting at RB could be open for a trade. How did he go undrafted? I take it this is an auction, no-keeper. Cause if it was a keeper league, he definately woulda gone. I wouldn't pickup boldin till week 3 (where i'ld drop wheatley or stallworth for him).

As for your roster overall. If its a 10 or 12 team league, it should be a cakewalk (barring injury) unless there was another shark playing among the guppies. If its only an 8 team league, you should just be another of many solid teams.

Just my opinion, but I would drop Wheatley for Jones before I would McGahee. McGahee is going to get a LOT of carries even if Henry stays healthy. The Bills didn’t invest a first round pick on him to have him ride the pine and he proved in preseason that he is going to be the primary goal line option. Doesn’t hurt that Henry coughed up the ball a few times in those situations last year. Wheatley may not even be named the starter and I just think he’s going to give you less than McGahee or Jones will.
