Temple post-game

Well, it seemed like there were fewer stupid turnovers than usual…

Wasn’t able to watch the game because of class. So what were some the things besides turnovers that we did to blow this game?

Turnovers, 12. An Improvement over late.
3 point shooting seemed to be the culprit, at least stastically. Only 3 of 17.
They were a little better in nearly every facet.

We didn’t make Temple turn the ball over enough. We suck at causing turnovers. Hopefully E Vick and Demario can help us next year… We also did not get to the foul line enough, and we’ve been a horrible 3 point shooting team since Goldwire left… or maybe since the 05 team.

If I could make anything good out of this is:
Braswell 15 points, 5 rebounds
Green: 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists
Deuce: 14 points, 4 assists, 0 TOs
Sherril: 12 points, 5 rebounds

These guys are all back next year, and aside from Derrio we have them for 2 more years. As David Scott pointed out, our senior class has really let us down.

KJ Sherrill-12 points, 5 rebounds 6-9 shooting. Really good game for him. Had some nice offensive boards and was attacking the basket.

That’s all I got

it wasn’t too too bad but I think these guys will mature and get a lot better next season.

agreed and thanks for the stream…If we can make the A10 tourney i will get excited, because for one week in march anything can happen

The stats at the end don’t show it, but watching the game our inside guys had trouble getting rebounds when they needed to. When Temple was pulling away, there were several trips where the Niners played good D, only for Temple to get an offensive rebound and set up an easy basket or foul. The difficulty of rebounding out of a zone and Temple’s players having significant height advantages.

Did seem like the guys played hard to the end, like to see that. Hopefully we’ll keep that up against some teams we match up better with, and get some wins. And nobody else goes out for whatever reason.

Temple owned the glass in the first and we won the battle in the 2nd half. We did not quit, got down 16 in the 2nd and battled the entire game. Tonight we just couldn’t hit anything from the perimeter.

Where has JB gone to? I know he is still doing other things on the floor, but his point production has slipped since the O’s article on him. Is he trying too hard? Are other teams keying on him? Would like to see the JB of a few weeks ago come back around.

good point wupass, he was doing so well earlier, but after that article he hasn’t done anything. We need to him to slap Braz in the head when he goes for 3’s

less turnovers is all i got. Wish we could redshirt someone so they get another year, lol.

I wish November would hurry up and get here. Losing 2 seniors that should have avg. 30+ points per game just sux. Not only that, but 2 bigs on the inside.

I really doubt we hit the 70 point mark for the rest of the season.

I don’t get mad at our losses anymore or expect to win going into the game. Any win is surpassing my expectations. Any team that loses to us from here on out should have their coach fired.

I honestly expected much worse last night.

I’m happy to see they are still playing hard, and over several games, you can see guys getting better, in general.

The one thing this group can control, and which there’s no excuse for, are the turnovers. That’s just mental focus. It’s weird though, because usually a team that plays that hard will not turn the ball over that much, and certainly not give up uncontested layups on the other end.

I’d like to see them work on valuing the ball more and continuing to compete hard. I can be satisfied with that, even if the results don’t showup in the W column.

Pretty much sums it up. We were woeful from beyond the arc and our defense really fell off towards the end of the game…I swear the last 7 buckets Temple scored were wide open dunks…gross. But the turnovers weren’t nearly as bad and we fought hard when we could have easily been BLOWN out. If Juan Fernandez is healthy, we get beat by 20+ but we did well to keep it within 10. Just keep trucking, guys…try to get something out of what’s left of this season.

These guys are working their butts off - we are way short-handed in the post now. This is like watching a car with three wheels in a race - it ain’t gonna make it. God help us if there’s an injury - we may have to forfeit.

The 1 positive that i’ve seen recently is K.J.'S PLAY.He does not get intimidated and if he can continue to improve his off. game he can really contribute next year.

The big negative and the challenge for Major is simple…we have to land guys who are legitimate D-1 starters…we just don’t have much talent,no matter how hard we kid ourselves. We need a few guys who can really score and create offense for teammates, and we need height in the backcourt. If Coach recruits well,we can do it…if not…we’ll be making all the same excuses we’ve been making for the last 5 years.

Lavoy Allen had an interesting stat line.

Those are rough… when they finally break through… look out. I’ve had two, three must be devastating.
