The team should be embarrassed. They were complete garbage.
The Good: Mike Thorne
The Bad: Everything else
Clark was really really bad. Those three passes he made that got stolen were horrendous

Why does Williams keep on shooting? Someone please tell me. This guy wouldn’t see the floor on most other A-10 teams.
Braswell, what else can you say about him. He is so soft, turns the ball over. He is now just an average player, what a disappointment.

This isn’t a tournament team, full stop. It’s not an over reaction to this game, but we just aren’t very good. Our offense is bad and our defense isn’t even that great anymore. Our 3-point defense is among the worst I’ve seen. Bright future indeed, but we are just too young.
I’m going to bed
We never had a lineup that worked. We gambled a lot on defense and ended up allowing wide open threes. Whenever we started to have momentum, it seemed like TWill had a turnover. Worst of all was the three on one break where he coughed the ball up.
I liked that the refs let them play at least. Coulda been way more fouls on both sides.
Thorne is the man.
Clark terrible entry passes. Terrible!
Couldn’t hit jack. Can’t win shooting 24%.
Don’t know what to say about Braswell.
Terrible team effort. I blame coaches too.
Too many breakdowns to analyze without going insane. Really confused on the lineups and Willie not playing more (foul trouble?). Wont beat anyone in this conference shooting ~30%. Even got a mostly fair game out of TV Ted and couldnt capitalize. Dont expect that opportunity again anytime soon. Enough bubble talk, gotta take one game at a time from here on out and hopefully try to steal a couple in Brooklyn. Hope we figure it out.
Leaving the game right now. I know we have an entire topic dedicated to this but WTF Chris Braswell??? Honestly, I think the best thing for the team going forward is no Braz, JTT, or DeMario. No hard feelings, and best wishes, but the team is the underclassmen.
I actually liked T Wills hustle in the 2nd half. We already know he struggles as a shooter, but he is one of our better defenders. I am pleased with Thorne and Henrys development. We have been saying we need shooters for a while now, but let me qualify that. We need shooters who can defend the 3 and get their own shot off.
Coach said in postgame that Willie was battling a “tender foot”.
Team is only built to beat teams it is significance more athletic than. Butler falls into that less athletic group. We are not a skilled team.
Braswell is terrible. His entire career he has disappeared against anyone as big as him. He doesnt bring anything other than offense and even that is poor now.
How can you have so many players and have no one that can make a jumpshot?
That was brutal. That was not a tournament team out there today. We won’t win when we face a hot 3 point shooting team and I’d be surprised if we had good numbers on the boards either.
Blowouts suck.
Does anyone know how to say “We sucked” in French? Not only were we not good offensively, but on defense we gave them way too many open shots, and we are supposed to be a defensive oriented team.
Our FT shooting was awesome for us. Too bad the refs were swallowing their whistles on this one. At least they called a fair game both ways.
I don’t think we ever adjusted well on D - WAY too many wide open 3s - could see that unfolding 3 passes before it happened every time. It was agonizing to watch. We flat out sucked donkey balls today. This team is going to have to put that behind them and move on quickly.

Exactly what ran through my head at halftime. Glad Mike is earning some meaningful minutes. Looks like he will give a great 20 plus minutes per game next year. Haven’t seen someone on this team with his (actual) size and athleticism in forever. Mike jumps a couple of feet off the ground.
Last guy I can think of is Rodney White, except Thorne will play better defense his years here.
We should have played the cub scouts today.

NIT? I think so…
We shot 27%, while lately we have been shooting better than 40%. If we shot 40% today, its a different ball game.
That being said, it was a huge game for us and we failed to show up. Really knocks us off of the bubble.
At this point we need to win our last 4 games, finish 10-6, and hope the A10 tournament match-ups are favorable.
Brutal game to watch. This team has no margin for error against quality opponents. Turning the ball over that many times alone would’ve killed us - forget the fact that we shot so poorly and let them hit so many open 3s.
Agree with everyone that we need quality 3pt shooters, but more than that, we need to develop a transistion game. We have to find a way to consistently attack in early transition before the defense gets set. Henry does this occasionally, but not enough. Our collective ballhandling skills aren’t good enough right now to be successful in a half court offense. If we improve our transition game and add a shooter or two, we will be a dangerous team next year.
All that said, hats off to Temple for coming to play today. They clearly understood the stakes today and played like it.
Hard to find many positives. Did like seeing Thorne get more time. His offense was a big help, his defense was suspect. I expect he’ll improve on that.
No one could seemingly hit anything. Nickerson’s shot looked awful today for some reason. No one else’s looked much better. Temple built their lead when even Henry was missing in the 1st half, we hung around because Henry started hitting some jumpers in the 2nd.
Braswell is a mystery to me, he has limitations, but they’re not that bad. Temple doubled and occasionally tripled him when he had the ball, but why not? Nobody was making them pay for it, and Braswell seldom found the open guy anyway. Have to work it in and out a few times, at least force them to bring the double more than once. Or else someone has to hit the open jumper when they crash on Braswell so much.
The game could’ve turned on that breakaway dunk by Nickerson that cut it to 8, but then Wyatt got an easy layup. Still, Temple went scoreless the next 2 1/2 minutes, but our offensive possessions were: Bras turnover, two badly missed jumpers by Williams, another missed jumper by Williams, Nickerson missed 3 attempt, miss by Henry. That should’ve been where the Niners made a run to get back into it, but missed jumpshots were they best the Niners could manage I guess.
I was still holding out hope for a big run at an at-large bid, but now I think that’s extremely unlikely. Will have to win the conference tournament, something I expect even less than running the table to end the year. Too bad, I’d love to have seen this team sneak into the tournament and give the young guys some more experience. Now the Niners need to win a few more to even make the NIT. Actually need to win one or two more to be assured of making the conference tournament.
