Teondre Williams - 2008 sg

Bigtime player. 6’4, 185. Is a rising senior at Meadowcreek High in Lawrenceville, GA. I am assuming this is a Chris Cheeks guy.

He is the 98th ranked player in the class of 08, and the 23rd ranked sg. His ranking would be higher, but he had a nagging knee injury that hampered him a little in the last year, but he seems to be over that. From what I have read, he sounds more like a top 75 guy.

He said we are one of the schools he talks to the most, and we have offered a scholarship. He also holds offers from Illinois, Florida State, Clemson, Cincinnati, and Alabama. There is interest from Minnesota and Oklahoma as well.

I would think that our chances of landing him are hurt a little since we just got Shamarr Bowden, but you never know. This would be a huge land for us.

i think getting shamarr basically told this guy we weren’t interested

No way in hell are we not interested. We dont offer scholarships and keep close tabs on players we arent interested in. We got Shamarr bc he was the first of the two to accept the scholarship offers.

DAAAAAMN!!! :lmao:

We NEED to sign this guy!

I lived in Lawrenceville until 1998 when I moved to Knoxville. They had one high school in 1998. Now I guess they have 3…Central (forever the only one), Collins Hill (another new one near my former house) and now…Meadowcreek. I have NO idea where It is.

The Earth is getting crowded…

we already have a shooting guard for this class. we need to sign a big guy.

I’ll take a Top 100 SG over a JUCO big man. Hell go ahead sign this guy, and start him at Center. I’m sure he can do a bit more than what the JUCO big men who just graduated did -_-.

wow way to say our best player last year sucked. that is nice of you ballin. EJ was probably the best player all around last year. He was a juco. courtney and twon didn’t pan out but hey you win some you lose some.

Williams’ top two are Cincinnati and Clemson. We are still in the hunt though. He has made an unofficial visit to Charlotte already, and said he likes the campus and coaches. He still plans on making an official visit this fall (midnight madness maybe?). I don’t know how many schollys we have left, but landing Williams and a legit post scorer would be HUGE.

EJ was like a 12th year senior(hyerbolic, I know). I will take a 4 year SG over a JUCO, too. In some aspects, it was like Drayton was a 4th year senior… which isn’t typical for JUCOs.

A third scholarship for '08 hinges of course on whether Jerrell Lewis returns for a 5th year of courtside seats to all Niner games.

Good point. The redshirt season ended up being a blessing in disguise for EJ because his shortened 05-06 season did not start well at all and I suspect that if he had tried to play through the pain it wouldn’t have gotten any better. The difference between 05-06 and 06-07 was like night and day.
