I predict that regardless of which side Sorensen takes, some here will disagree with him. Just a hunch.

I canât believe youâd step out on a limb like that.
I donât care what Tom thinks but if itâs a FIRE HIM article, Iâd hope it wouldnât run on the day of the 1st tournament game. Pretty damn embarrassing and insulting if your hometown paper would do that. At least wait until the season is over.
Yeah, it would be embarrassing. All the more reason to believe the Observer would do it.

âŚand it is also safe to say that regardless of what is said, I wonât be buying a copy of Wednesdayâs Observer.

I don't care what Tom thinks but if it's a FIRE HIM article, I'd hope it wouldn't run on the day of the 1st tournament game. Pretty damn embarrassing and insulting if your hometown paper would do that. At least wait until the season is over.
Agreed but surely you donât think the Observer would run it on a day when our season may be over and a lot fewer Niner fans will be reading the sports section? Tom and the Observer both know that the majority of 49er fans, who still care about this season, will be skimming through the paper tomorrow to read about our game/A-10 Tournament. Hence, it makes more sense for them to post the story then. If we lose tomorrow, no one is gonna give a crap about Niner-related stories in Thursdayâs paper, especially with what will be a saturation of ACC Tournament coverage.
Lutz has two seasons remaining after this one, and athletics director Judy Rose said Tuesday that they are discussing an extension.

Well, I can see it be more fitting after a loss, people would read it in disgustâŚBUT the storyâs up and:
-Lutz should not be fired
-Superior coach if you win 21 or more 4 times
-A-10 hurting
-Assistants leaving
-Contract extension being discussed.
-Predicts weâll lose tomorrow
Tom talks like Lefty.
"Lutz has two seasons remaining after this one, and athletics director Judy Rose saidys Tuesday that they are discussing an extension. "
Iâve been very critical of Lutz the last 2 seasons, but Iâm not sure Iâm even in the fire him NOW camp. But, this above statement is troubling. This is how you get rewarded with two very disappointing seasons? A frigginâ extension?
You know what? Forget football. It doensât matter. Our administration obviously doesnât have a commitment to winning. They become more laughable and clueless every day.
double post

I agree with 4 of those

Lefty, seriously. Putting all excuses aside, how would you grade Lutz as a coach the past two seasons, objectively?

Wonât happen

Depends. Based on expectations of the program since bar is now set at NCAA appearance every year - Dâs both years. Overall - C+ last year; D this year. Itâs been dissapointing, no doubt.
Iâll ride it out with Lutz until the end, which I hope we are nowhere near.

I can go along with those grades.
But, you think this deserves a âGood, job, stay around a couple of extra yearsâ extension? I just cant imagine being as bad at my job a couple years in a row and get patted on the back for it. Makes me wanna cut my contributions as of yesterday.
Not saying I will, but just sayingâŚ
Iâll put it this way, last year Deangelo Alexander said âIâve never been in a tournament where we didnât win at least the first two gamesâ. Under lutz if we lose in the next two days, DA will have never won at least the first two games in any tournament here at Charlotte.
If sorenson wants to say âoh well he lost assistantsâ and âoh well he is in ACC country and loses recruits to themâ and finally âoh well he did get affected by the a10 recruitingâ
WE GOT BEAT BY DAVIDSON FâING COLLEGE BY 28 POINTS!!! Would someone make an excuse for that, please, just try to make an excuse for that, oh right, Lutz did, it was Jerrell Lewisâ fault.
Maybe we donât fire this guy out of respect for what he has done in the past, i can handle that. Maybe next year if we finish better than 5th in the conference and there is hope in our young guys we talk about renewing the contract, but there are by no means any reasons to be negotiating his contract at any point in the year 2007.
I would give last year a worse grade than this year. Last year we were projected by most to be a tournament team and we failed miserably. This year at least we knew we likely wouldnât be very good. It didnât come as a surprise.
Obviously Judy needs to get shitcanned first. DisgracefulâŚOur 1 major sport going into the crapper and sheâs discussing an EXTENSION with him? Iâm officially ashamed to be a fanâŚfirst time ever!
