The Incredible Globetrotting Charlie Coley III

Harlem Globe Trotters Draft

• Charlie Coley, III finished second to Danridge in the Slam Dunk Championship by a single point in a dunk-off, after each had scored a perfect 50 in the final round. The 6-7 Charlotte 49er, raised in Lake Worth, Fla., not only sports a 40-inch vertical leap (he once dunked over a Nissan on a playground in Miami), but often wears an afro that harkens back to the days of Globetrotter legends.
This is great for Charlie, and hopefully can help the school down the road/

Congrats to Charlie. Hope he can make the final cut!
Congrats to Charlie. Hope he can make the final cut!
charlie and the globetrotters are a perfect fit.

They mentioned this last night on the 6pm local news (channel 9).

Front page of the O online at the moment…

also, we may need to play the caption game on our own guy this time…

Also, I’m sure the photo is actually of Kyle Church with Coley trying to get in the way…hard to tell…

Yeah, it just feels right. CC3 is definitely a showman.

I seen Coley in the Slam Dunk Contest. He is very spectacular. I wished I new about him earlier in the season. I might have came to see him play. I hope he makes the Globetrotters so I can tell people he played college ball in my hometown.

Anyone know potential salary? I’m sure he could make more over seas right?

Pretty recent article here
The franchise, founded in 1926, keeps its expenses low by having the squads travel nearly exclusively by bus, and they play in small towns during the week and in major markets on weekends. The 25 players can make a six-figure salary, which is comfortable but a fraction of what NBA players make.
I can’t believe nobody is mentioning the last 49er to play for the Globetrotters.

Jermaine Williams

Put some ice on that head bump!

Jermaine Williams

There’s also Jamario Moon

Just as long as he doesn’t get stuck with the Washington Generals!

From their All time roster:

LaQuency "Candy" Lucas G 5-9 North Carolina Charlotte

Jermaine Williams
F 6-10
Charlotte

The only one I know from this list is Jermaine Williams.

Not a chance. No way the globetrotters risk getting posterized.

Yep....... There's no way they risk being dunked on by Coley.

Taylor Griffin got drafted in the 2nd round, so wouldn’t that help out Coley’s chance of making the final roster?

I think Charlie has had a better shot than Taylor the whole time, and that they just labeled him their “#1 Pick” because of his name.

I talked to him 2 weeks ago and he mentioned he wanted to play over seas. Said something about china. His game is better suited to play basketball overseas. coley dunk on someone is as exciting as banging your head to some good metal. :headbang:
